Biography

Yukai
Golden King of a Forgotten Dream

His parents, even while he was still a young hatchling, would put Yukai under strict study. The best tutors were brought from all over the Sunbeam Ruins to instruct him. His purpose? Yukai was supposedly destined to revitalize his family's former glory and once again become rulers to an ancient kingdom long forgotten to the ages. Except his family remembered. They put all their faith into Yukai, hoping he would succeed. Yukai thought they were foolish.

He would look out the window from his room day after day as he studied. His family lived in a crumbling castle believed to be the home of their ancestors. On his few breaks Yukai would venture into every nook and cranny he found, the only solace he had before returning to his work. Little did he know, a Light Sprite had taken pity on him. Yukai found her lying around in his room. He tried shooing her away, his many attempts being unsuccessful. He eventually warmed up to her and the two became bonded. The Light Sprite became his only friend.

Yukai had to constantly hide her or else she'd be forced to leave. They decided on a hiding spot only they both knew where they would meet during one of Yukai's breaks. Here they would play games or even relax. It became noticeable to the Light Sprite that Yukai was feeling more stressed as his studies started to push him to his limits. She could no longer bear to see him in this state.

The Light Sprite proposed to him an escape. "You can't keep doing this," she said. "It's not only hurting me but you too. Your family's dream has to end." Obviously Yukai's first response was furious until he weighed in her implications. He couldn't do this anymore. He packed what little items he had and they both fled during the night.

Knowing they couldn't remain in the Sunbeam Ruins without risking capture, they left their homeland. They had no direction to guide them, traveling through the territories of Shadow, Water, Wind and Plague. Their goal of finding a permanent home almost seemed fruitless. A group of dragons found them crossing the border to the Starfall Isles. The Light Sprite was wary, but Yukai felt confident that they could trust them.

They met with the clan matriarch who offered them a place to stay after hearing their escape. Aria swore the entire clan would protect the two with their lives should Yukai's former clan want him back. Yukai and the Light Sprite would then become members of the Dreaming Moon Clan, finally able to live freely.
