      |
 URANIA [ CAPTAIN ] The Mermaid Hunter Wind birth? Irrelevant. Greyish colors? Unimportant. All Urania wants is to discover the mysteries of the deep sea, and do it herself. With her trusty Sparrow by her side, she has searched far and wide to find the perfect companion to share her adventures with. But so far, she has found none. Having taken the role of fish procurer for the clan, Urania soon got used to heading towards the Fishspine Reef every day. She enjoyed more than anything just being there, under the sun and next to the waves. One day, while she was taking a break from her routine and just having fun between the waves, she saw far away a figure that looked very much like a dragon… but was different from any dragon she had ever seen before: a stunning, Caribbean-blue, Water-born Pearlcatcher was heading right towards her, head low, as if she was absorbed in her thoughts. Urania was speechless. She hid underwater to watch her without having to disturb her splendid beauty. But the other dragoness soon noticed her – felt something going on between them. They introduced themselves to each other, and Aysu joined her between the waves. Urania couldn't stop looking at Aysu's majestic colors and eyes, couldn’t stop telling her how incredible she was, and how lucky their encounter had been. A feast of sardines signed the progressive evolution of their relationship, to the point that Urania began considering leaving her home clan forever just to be with the one she felt was truly close to her heart. One night, as Aysu was falling asleep in her arms – their tails and wings tangled together like they had never been another way – Urania made her suggestion: to leave everything behind and flee into the depths to be together forever. But Aysu just didn't feel that was the solution to all their problems; with Urania’s help, she had gone through a major discovery of herself during their days together. She understood that the Fishspine Reef would never been her true place and home. Urania was at first saddened by this decision, as she had thought the beautiful Pearlcatcher was going to be with her forever, but she understood how the other dragoness was feeling, and choose to head back to her homeland in the Windswept Plateau. Just before leaving, to entrust their relationship with a symbol of their bond and unity, they gifted each other a Pastel Spinel Ring, as a symbol of protection from harm, to assist in reconciling differences, and to help soothe away sadness. They promised to never forget each other, and vowed to come back and live as they had done in those happy and carefree days, when the intense absence of the other became too much to bear. As a final souvenir, Urania gifted her dearest with a Blue-Lipped Thresh as a celebration of her neverfading beauty, and got from her the promise they would write to each other, relating their own stories and lives. Sparrow showed himself to be very proud of being their courier.  Once she got back home, Urania found her clanmates full of preoccupation and anxiety for her absence, got scolded by the clan leaders about having disappeared without notice and having left her duties without reason… but they also recognized that she was more relaxed and happier than ever. Having received many questions about what had happened to her, the Pearlcatcher, now used to the Water's mysterious and sibylline nature, kept answering just "A mermaid I met stole what was keeping my veins to be filled with salt water". This, combined with her continuous (and almost compulsive) trips to the Water domain, gained her the title of 'Mermaid Hunter' and slightly more respect than she could have expected. As of now, she hasn't met Aysu again, but she once found a bottle drifting by the shore, with inside a written note that said "You would look gorgeous with some Gold Clawtips, my shining beauty". To this she laughed softly, nodding with a satisfied grin on her face. |
