PERSONALITY:
Hong is stubborn, proud, and full of bombast. She sees the lair as a big, stationary, landlocked ship. It has all these little working parts, and a crew to make them all work. (A real ship would be better, of course, in every way.) And though Hong lost the majority of her real authority, the outsiders she guides don't know that. Hong is one of the most eager lairguard, any opportunity to reminisce. Unsurprisingly, Hong isn't the best listener.

She uses what little earth magic she has to tremorsense creatures in the lair's tunnels. Her charge is herself.

HISTORY:
Most of Hong's life was spent in the Sea of a Thousand Currents, despite her birthplace. Her family had always lived near the Sea, and as soon as she was able to walk Hong was running into the water. As she grew, she continued to spend more and more time immersed in the cool comforts of the water. It came as no surprise to her family that when the time came for Hong to leave, she made a beeline for the Tidelord's domain.

Hong was happy in the sea, but she found herself a cart before the horse. She was poor. It wasn't long before she turned to piracy to eke out her living. Hong the pirate, scales as red as the blood of her victims suspended in the water. It was hard, at first. She knew her parents would disapprove. But with time, hesitation and regret hardened to confidence and callousness. She became fierce.

Eventually, a captain from a clan in the Trench came calling. Hong's notoriety finally demanded answering. The pair fought, viciously, and came to a draw. He was slippery as an eel, and her hide was too tough to pierce. It was good news for Hong; the lawkeepers couldn't stop her without driving them to exhaustion. At least this one couldn't. If he'd brought backup, though...

She cut him a deal. She'd leave and harass the region no more, if he joined her as her first mate. Warily he accepted, and the pair set out for the eastern shallows. It'd been a while since Hong had set foot on dry ground. On a whim, she dragged Mog to the shore and begun wandering the Expanse.

There she found Stormbay, and their need for the Earthshaker's children to guard their lair. It was a secure job, well-paying, and her first real honest gig. She accepted.

CURRENT PLOTS:
Hong and Malia's courtship consists majorly of a competition of gifting and counter-gifting, only most everything is stolen. Most recently, Malia gave Hong an entire sunken ship, which Hong was Thrilled about, and she's commissioning an entire new space in the lair to house it. For now it's beached behind the mesa that holds the lair.

Close friends with Satet, though not the most loyal or trustworthy. They enjoy sparring. Hong's courtship with Malia is starting to strain this friendship, though.

Mog is her right hand and best friend. Hong has long forgotten the real tensions of their first meeting.

Fell in terrible dramatic pirate love with Malia.
