The white fur that appears to cling to Arthyl's bones is not in fact real fur but rather a sort of partially translucent smoke, which appears near solid against anything except her skeleton; when disturbed, it ripples and swirls away, but it always regains its original shape. Among its other unusual properties is its ability to hold the weight of her apparel without collapsing in on itself. In a place like the Windswept Plateau, it is not uncommon for this smoke to blow into the wind in long puffy streams and carry over long distances.
Her bones rattle softly whenever she moves. Enhanced by magic, they are nigh impossible to fracture. She can separate and move them around with her mind, such as to avoid attacks or allow her skeleton to fall into a limp pile, then reassemble it with ease. No matter how far apart the bones are separated, they can always be called back to rejoin their place.
Having previously not been dead, she once sported a bright green coat. After losing it she adorned herself with all shades of green to reflect what was once there before. Her cloak is in tatters but remains as durable as new, and surprisingly effective at blocking attacks. Flowers sprout from her feet; thorns weave around her joints, tail, and ribs. The flowers grow quickly but do not remain in bloom for very long, falling apart into individual petals and leaves within hours after maturing. A light breeze of these remnants twirl around her for some time after they unravel.
When using a significant amount of magic, such as crossing between realms, this cycle exponentially speeds up and results in large swaths of petals circling in elaborate formations, which gracefully drift to the ground when the action is stopped. Additionally, dark smoke will emanate from her feet and mouth, a phenomenon known as "breath of the dead".
Having no vocal cords or lips or a tongue to communicate verbally, Arthyl speaks instead by telepathy if it's with individual people or sign language if it's with a group. There are several interpreters in Turano for this purpose. In the case of telepathy, she does not have a "voice", nor "sound" a certain way to others.
Naturally, all of these characteristics make the queen a frightening dragon to encounter; her presence alone is enough to make the trees shiver with fear.
