Biography

Old bio awaiting editing for name change
Padme is the embodiment of the unwavering will to live, and has been from the beginning of her life. From a young age, it was known her heart was failing. Because of this, the blood in her body could not easily circulate around her body and, in turn, was slugish and weak. She could barely stand, much less run and play and learn. Despite her parents unwavering will to care for her, she was miserable.

Then, on the night of her 3rd hatchday, her heart began to fail even worse. Her heart was barely able to beat, and in turn, she became even weaker and bed-ridden. In just 2 more days, her lungs started to fill with the very blood it tried to enrich, and she began to have furious coughing fits. In these fits, she would cough up blood. Hearing her first fit, her parents rushed her to the clans doctor. She worked for hours, but was unable to heal Padme, no matter what magic or potion she used. In a last ditch effort, she urged the parents to bring her to a clearing several miles away from the clan, where the Gladekeeper was believed to tread frequently, and try and get the deity to heal padme.

Padme's parents left with her immediately, leaving the doctor and clan behind. About halfway there, around 2 miles away from the clan, they were greeted by a masked and cloaked Fae. His voice was raspy and strained, and he was hunched over and shakey. Quickly he spoke, not giving Padme or her parents time to talk.

"I have heard of your daughters plight, and have come to help. I possess magic that can heal your daughters ailment, and give her a chance to live her life normally and happily. I require nothing in return. While the Gladekeeper might help as you've been told, you will not be able to find him in time. Your daughter will die in mere minutes if you do not allow me to help."

The two coatls looked between each other and then back to Padme, who was clearly having trouble breathing and constantly coughing. Reluctantly, they agreed to allow the mysterious Fae to help, and followed him to a small clearing about 1,000 feet away from the road. After laying down Padme in the center of a circle of dozens of glowing runes, the Fae began to quickly fly around the clearing, while chanting in an unfamiliar language.

"Oh Bormah, hon dii rein. Ofan zu'u fin suleyk wah vokrii daar ahraan. Ofan nau ek aan vokrii sil ahrk pruzah laas."

(("Oh Father, hear my cry. Give me the power to restore/heal this wound. Give unto her a restored soul and renewed life." Rough translation, used Thu'um from Skyrim.))

The Fae continued his chants, and slowly the runes began to shake and raise from the ground. The parents instantly began to regret their decision, and started to jump and try to grab Padme from the circle. With a blast of magic, the Fae knocked both of them back and, with a second bolt of magic, knocked them unconscious.

When the parents awoke an hour later, the Fae and all the runes were gone. In the center of where the circle was rested Padme. Where there had previously been nothing but white fur, now rested a glowing mass of molten metal. It was so hot, it charred the fur and feathers around it, causing the metal to look like a new, glowing cinder heart.

Torn apart by what might have happened to Padme, they started to try and stir her. Within a few moments, she awoke, and for the first time in her life, rose quickly to her feet and looked around with energy. The ailment had been cured. Overjoyed, her parents took her under their wings and escorted Padme back to their clans lair.

Once they returned, most of the clan members greeted them joyously, but one did not. The resident mage and doctor, the one who recommended they seek the aid of the Gladekeeper. Slowly, she approached Padme and, upon seeing her new heart, started to screech in anger.

"You fools! You have allowed a follower of the Dark One to taint your daughter! Someday, she will succumb to his influence and allow him to control her! She will be nothing but a pawn, and because you refused to have faith in the Gladekeepr!"

In shock and in confusion, Padme backed up. Upon hearing this, the rest of the clan began to grow angry as well, and started to chant for Padme to be killed. In pure terror, she ran out of the lair, followed closely by the most of the clan.

But, the one thing they did not count on, is the renewed energy Padme had because of her new heart. Despite barely being able to fly and run, the molten metal empowered her with so much energy that she could go on for much longer than the rest of the clan. This was shown by the clan chasing her for miles before stopping, and miles more ran by Padme to the Arcane lands. After hours of nonstop running, she finally collapses into the ground in a dirty, sobbing mess.

Soon, she was found by a leader, the one who calls himself Guardian, a massive Ridgeback dragon, bearing ancient Alabaster armor, and over four as big as young Padme, due to her not being fully grown yet. Almost stepping on and squashing Padme, he stops and looks down to her. Kneeling down to her as well as he could, he prods the sobbing dragon with one arm, speaking calmly and soothingly.

"Young one, you should not be out alone. What is wrong?"

Padme looks up to him and, chocking back tears, tells him her story and what the doctor said. He listens to the tale with genuine concern, his spikes pulse a variety of colors and lights. Once Padme finishes her story, Guardian rises back up and speaks to her.

"If your clan will not have you, I can help. My clan is one of people like you, the runaways, the beggars, the outcasts. Even if you do succumb one day to this 'Dark One,' we will take you in and care for you. When you do give in, we will be your release in whatever form necessary. Follow me, and be marry, for you have found one of the only clans that will not cast you out for things beyond your control."

And so, Padme followed. She followed the massive armored Ridgeback to his clan, and was taken in and accepted. She got a hot meal and a bed to sleep in, and has not abandoned her new clan mates. But, due to the ever-present concern of this unknown deity, she was never allowed to be trained to fight. Instead, she took to gathering food and new items for their hordes. In this new clan of outcasts, she found a new life, one of acceptance and love.

For now, at least. One day, she knew she would turn on everyone. Turn on her mate, her clan mates, and even the gentle Ridgeback that took her in.

But, today is not that day.
