Windwar

Windwar is the Matriarch of a small clan in the Starfall Isles. As a hatchling, she was raised by mannered and old Guardian parents that protected a piece of land there. She was part of their last nest. Raised to be courteous and caring with a refined sort of mannerism, she takes after her mother (though her parents are now dead) in her adoration of all things star-related, and happily does what she can to serve the Arcanist. Like any Arcane dragon, however, at a young age she grew intensely curious and set out to find that which she was to guard on her Search. She explored the world, meeting many dragons and seeing many places. Some she liked. Some she hated. She discovered a fondness for flying and being in the sky, a love of all things icy or purple, and realized she rather liked to take care of anything smaller than her that needed it. ... And, well, given Guardians being the largest breed, just about... that's most things. Propelled by her rite and curious about what she would feel was her destiny to guard (would it be land? A dragon? An object? A familiar? Something else?), she continued to roam, until one day, she encountered an obsidian dragon with bright, venomous green wings, aptly named Greenwing. A seeker like herself, the two decided to travel together in search of things. As time went on, she learned much, but became disillusioned; were she to guard land like her parents, would she not have found it?

But eventually, she realized that it was whom she was meant to guard, not what--and she settled into the old cave her parents cherished with Greenwing, having her first three hatchlings there. She would teach them about the stars and what she learned of the world, about the elements, and about magic, particularly healing and arcane magic, which she was most gifted with. Though she could fight like her husband, she found she preferred to support him and others in battle. She would discover young Helios wandering far from his home and take him in, caring and teaching the Fae how to speak and express himself to other breeds. She would discover an unhatched ice egg containing Artemic the same way, and raised him with all the love and care Iolanthe and Persephone received. Her daughters, of course, she is closest to, and though they wander from home increasingly, they will always be welcome back there.

Maternal to a fault, she has had flings with more than a few dragons (Helios, despite being cared for by her and young, grew to love her in other ways, and Greenwing didn't much mind), but her Search partner and the one she guards with her life, Greenwing, is her truest love. She is fond of ribbons, though they're unnecessary, and speaks deliberately and calmly. In a situation of panic, she is the first to come up with a nonviolent solution or suggest something out of the box, wise as her years may suggest. She is maternal and has a fondness for abandoned eggs, always taking them in. Visitors are, of course, always greeted with warmth in her lair--and a thirsty curiosity that, as an Arcane dragon, will likely never leave her. She does not hate any element (even the neighboring Plague dragons, which is why Fleija was welcomed into their home), as she was raised to be kind to all sorts.
