 Chrysalis, as Arch-Priestess of The Cult, is second only to Chavi in terms of religious sway. Chavi, ever-cognizant of the disastrous impact this could bring about, made certain to brand Chrysalis' very soul with an unbreakable bond to Her. Even the merest thought of betrayal sends Chrysalis into unspeakable agony, whereas following the doctrine of The Cult and spreading it to others fills her with indescribable peace and joy. This, over the endless life of a dragon, has lead to Chrysalis truly coming to believe in the religion she spreads. Day after day of reaffirming the same beliefs, banishing any hint of treachery, has turned her into an eternally loyal fanatic. Chrysalis often retreats down, down, down, into the Heart of the Earth. This great cavern is hallowed and quite a secret; entry is allowed only to those who have been ritually purified or those who have sworn their very lives to The Cult. Located at a great intersection of Sornieth's leylines, this sacred place hums with ancient energies, concentrated and focused into this very cavern by the many magical crystals brought from across the Windswept Plateau. In this way, great feats may be accomplished. Chrysalis, however, primarily uses this place for a few primary purposes: Divining the future from bones, spirit-walking, and speaking to the spirits of the Fallen. While Chrysalis' religious duties are primarily focused on the safety and longevity of The Cult as a whole, so, too, does she lead The Cult in ceremonies during the highest festivals. Too, she is the High Priestess of the Princeps Templum; the largest and most important of The Cults' temples. Located on crimson and gold kites, miles off of the ground; from this lofty vantage point, she communes with the astronomers and seers of The Cult, cross-checking their visions and reporting any omens. During visits to the Heart of the Earth, or land/sea-based religious ceremonies, she dives down from the temple, a dull streak, in the view of most dragons. To those of The Cult, however, she is the dusk to Chavis' dawn. Deep hues, unknowable and invisible to most dragons, sear through the sky in her wake.
