Biography
a dragon of scientific process . . . Nothing can get between Valho and science. His outgoing nature is only rivaled by his need to know more about science. Any opportunity to learn, he will take it. Any opportunity to talk to strangers, he will also take. His booming voice can be heard from quite a distance away as he talks loudly to whoever will listen to him. Don't think he's a buffoon because of his weird mannerisms; he has an amazing talent for taking things apart and learning how they work. He is also not above learning from other dragons and will happily pick their minds if he thinks they're scientifically inclined. His greatest possession in life is his Science Bucket, a wonderful device which allows him to learn about science in ways never before known to science. Anything he places inside the bucket becomes science, and he eagerly records the results. Anyone who tries to point out that it isn't how science works is politely ignored. Anyone who takes an interest in the Science Bucket is quickly taken under his wing to learn more. Although he is incredibly sociable, he does lack in empathy and compassion. He finds it hard to wrap his head around the feelings of others and sometimes even his own. |

Then . . .
Born to a water clan, there were certain things Valho was expected to do as he grew. Learning to swim, catching fish, becoming one with the magic of the world around him. His parents were well-learned in future-seeing, both leading their clan of underwater dragons to prosperity. The clan, filled with dragons who could either see the future or were training to do so, celebrated the hatch of each dragon with a lifelong gift that was chosen before the dragon hatched. When they performed the ceremony for Valho's unhatched egg, the gift chosen was a rusted tin bucket. This couldn't mean much good.
Immediately upon hatching, it was obvious Valho was different. He seemed allergic to magic, and drawn to the mechanical tickings of lightning dragons he would meet at the edges of the sea. It wasn't long before he needed to leave, just had to go somewhere. He bid his rather disappointed parents goodbye and took off into the world with nothing but his bucket and memories of home. On his journey, he found a clan of dragons in the Viridian Labyrinth in need of a scientist. Knowing only what he had pieced together from his interactions with lightning dragons, he began doing his best to be a true scientist. Quite on accident, he placed his leftover dinner in his lifelong gift - the bucket - and when he woke up there were many insects eating the dinner. He exclaimed, "SCIENCE!" and proceeded to call the bucket his science bucket.
Now . . .
With the invention of his Science Bucket, Valho was unstoppable. Anything could be done. Including learning about the Hewn City, which was where his clan was moving to. Along the way he would place various things into the Science Bucket and eagerly await the results, regardless if there were any or not. He kept records of these experiments and would pass them on to Pumpkin, who filed them away in a discrete location most called the trash.
Upon arrival to the new location of the clan, Valho set up his science corner in a little alcove carved out of the cliff side. While his main tool is his precious Science Bucket, he does follow some more conventional methods learned from other dragons. Many of his observations at the base of the Hewn City have given Pumpkin insight that she might not have had otherwise, making his silly antics more tolerable. And besides, Valho is an exceptional conversationalist and can hold an audience completely enthralled with his stories.
