LIBRARIAN

"I like my library buzzing with life!

"Everyone should stop by for a second and immerse oneself in the beauty of the written word. There is always something to learn from them--even if we are just feeling them under our paws, or smelling their leather binding.

"As you might know: reading gives the mind the opportunity to travel, while ones body stays right it is. So why should I set out when the greatest treasure is right here? Ongoing shelves covering the stone walls and every day I'm able to add a story to the collection.

"What I regret most in life is, that there are so many books but only so little time to read them all...."

Voriksha is the librarian of the clan. She constructed her place like a labyrinth of tunnels and caves, with a surprisingly efficient layout.

The library is like a city unto itself with roads and winding lances, alleys and shortcuts. Nearly every wall of the caves are lined with large shelves, filled with scrolls, books and journals. Some hallways are broad have high ceilings so even the biggest Imperial could fit in them, others form narrow lanes barely wide enought for a Fae to pass. Separated from the usual holding areas, different passageways lead to comfortable reading holes.

That's where the all the books and scrolls, stories and dreams live. The air is heavy with the smell of leather and dust of old parchment and binding glue. It smelled of secrets.

Still, there lies a problem with the library. Only Voriksah, Izarre and her scrivs know the correct way through the labyrinth of tunnels and caverns without getting lost. Any other dragon had to depend on their help to get around safely, and sometimes Voriksha simply forgets about visitors while immersing herself in her readings. The well integrated Izarre acts as a real lifesaver. She helps the librarian to find whatever documents a visitor may be looking for and is even able to find any lost visitor again.

The spiral librarian loves talking nonstop about new purchases and findings added to her collection. She is a typical bookworm as she just loves everything from the look, feeling and smell of bound literature to the vellum and hides of ancient scrolls. The librarian is often seen walking around, the nose buried in a book, surfacing only to have a look at some new souvenirs brought by other dragons or to take a short nap among the towers of books she takes care of.

This dragon literally devours any written word. The excessive readings has ruined her eyes over time and so she is always wearing a pair of silver glasses. Voriksha had been underground for her whole lifetime; working on the tunnels and caves, organizing and cataloguing her treasures, keeping everything clean of varmints and dust.

Determined visitor

The dragoness wandered through a dusty library while the light inside the spheres painted distorted shadows on the walls. Dust motes caught in the rays of light drifted slowly downward, watching the Bogsneak as she stands on tiptoe to select another scroll. She brought one leathery parchment down to eye level and inspected it extensively. With a sigh, she placed it back, and resumes his search.

Westley had arrived at Clan Àidhear just a few hours ago and had secluded herself inside the library since the moment one of the clan members had told her about its existence. There was this one story, Westley wanted to investigate further and while all of the books, scrolls and parchments were themselves quite interesting, she really wanted to find something about a particular matter. One Westley didn’t want to discuss with anyone until she was sure about her findings.

Voriksha's sanctuary was located at the upper right side of the clan’s territory. The whole hill there was hollowed out: as a labyrinth of tunnels and caves. This library was like a city unto itself with roads and winding lances, alleys and shortcuts. Nearly every wall of the caves was lined with large shelves, filled with scrolls, books and journals. Some hallways were broad with have high ceilings so even the biggest Imperial could fit in them, others formed narrow lanes barely wide enough for a Fae to pass. That's where the all the books and scrolls, stories and dreams lived! The air was heavy with the smell of leather and dust of old parchment and binding glue – the smell of secrets.

As he continued through the archives, inspecting and replacing books, the light remained the same, glittering and moving inside the globe as if it wanted to break free at any moment. As though it was waiting, waiting and urging the dragoness to finish her search. One more Westley kneeled down and withdrew a thick and ancient tome. Placing it upon her knees, she brushed the layers of dust from the cover. With a hopeful smile, the dragoness opened the book; only to be disappointed when she saw the pages were… blank. Frustrated, she closed her eyes for a moment and replaced the book.

The traveler did not know when, where, or if she will ever find the answer she seeks; yet she was determined to keep searching! To explore the darkest depths of any archives she’d came across on her journey and gather all possible tales and stories, until she’d come upon the answer she seeks. And as the Bogsneak continued her quest among the long-forgotten novels of Clan Àidhear, the dust continued to float down upon the endless rooms of the maze. The sun continues to wait. And the light of the eternal glowing globe continued to filter the light to paint distorted shadows on the walls
