Ever since he opened his eyes, Mochi expressed a zealous interest in writing. He would pick up samples of runes and oddities from all over Sornieth, always taking time to analyze it all and copy the various patterns onto scrolls of his own. Once he reached adulthood, he became Emberra's scribe, recording various things from hoard stocks to hatchling survival rates.

Mochi also made sure to have free time for his own writing. Carved runes soon decorated the walls of his home, made to glow by Fae magic.

His daily life involved looking at countless pieces of parchment for too long, spending hours on end breathing in the noxious fumes of Octoflyer ink and chanting inaudible spells to make sure his work would not disappear with a drop of water. This hard work combined with all his duties as the clan scribe took quite a toll on him, leading to the development of severe cataracts. His trusty Plague Sprite, Corinthia, soon took charge and now helps him with daily tasks such as getting around the territory.
