______ Carrion was the first. The Chosen. The Queen. She is the leader of the lair, and the protector. Many years ago she began her lair with her then mate, Halcyon. She was young and spirited and embodied all that Wind dragons were known for. Quickly she had her first clutch, one mirror, one fae. She doted upon both hatchlings, every day a joy. But all too soon her first born decided that frolicking on the winds of the Windsinger was not for her. And so she left. The devastation Carrion felt at the loss of her child was short lived, when a Guardian with lightning eyes soon found her way into the lair. Carrion was cautious at first, she had never met such a young dragon as large as this one, or a guardian in general, but her caution was soon dispelled. The young dragon, Evika, soon formed a strong bond with the fae and her mate. Quickly joining the duo in the coliseum where Carrion's son wouldn't tread.

______ Slowly Carrions lair began to grow. A new dragon here, a small clutch there. For every one which left, another two would take their place. Eventually Carrion stopped having clutches herself, there were so many hatchlings of others to play with and dote on, as well as a new mate with who she had a final clutch. Aware that another wanted her role as Queen, Carrion announced that anyone who could defeat her in combat could claim the throne, secure in her knowledge that even if Evika couldn't defend her, Carrion's own magic was more than enough to cause damage.

Now days she can be found flittering about the nesting grounds advising couples on tending to their eggs, and distracting the hatchlings so the parents can rest.
