Haku is the resident treasure keeper, steadfastly collecting treasure (along with help from his assistant Oriana) from clan members and approving requests for treasure from them as well. Haku is an honorable dragon, believing strongly in the community system of treasure management, and makes sure that clan members are spending their funds wisely. Despite his usual good judgement, however, he has a weak spot for the female Coatls of the clan (might be a result of his affection for Oriana) and has been known to approve ridiculous requests from them; especially Capela, who experiments with inventions often and frequently requests treasure so she can purchase many different items and scraps from traveling merchants.

Haku comes from the icy Cloudscape Crags, where he had first learned the art of banking and treasure management from his father - who was, incidentally, a male Coatl. He quickly became assistant treasure keeper, but had an unfortunate bout of luck where he was accused of killing a popular female Coatl whom he had been "close friends" with. Haku was quickly banished, with the parting attacks from fellow clan members leaving him with a number of nasty scars on his legs and wings.

After his banishment, Haku traveled throughout the Tundra, finally crossing over into the Windswept Plateau, where he met Lucina, who was also passing through. Haku was struck by her beauty as well as her willingness to believe that he was not a murderer, and the pair became fast friends and then mates. They encountered the Imperial Jadis on their travels and she convinced them to join her clan, seeing value in both their trades. Haku was able to get a brilliant blue tattoo from Isis to cover his scars once he had joined the clan.

p e r s o n a l i t y and a p p e a r a n c e

Haku deeply values honesty and honor, making sure to lecture dragons whom he believes are not living up to his moral standards. He also has a keen sense for justice, and is one of the first to demand adequate retribution for any crimes committed within and outside the clan; this is possibly a result of residual feelings from his accusal and banishment from his birth clan for a crime he did not commit.

Haku is also very superstitious, holding a strong belief in ghosts and other supernatural beings. He believes that his banishment was a result of him fraternizing with a dragon of a different species; this has made him very judgmental of opposite species dragon pairs within the clan, constantly informing them of the horrible events that may come about due to their partnership; this has made him a big annoyance too many.

Carmine had befriended Haku in his old clan, eventually choosing to follow him once he was banished. Haku greatly values the Dreameater, seeing her as his link to the supernatural world and the only friend that fully understands his innocence. She also kindly eats the nightmares Haku often has concerning his trial and attack.
