After a minute or so of fidgeting with the gadget, he handed it back entirely fixed. “Next time,” he said, “Be more careful.” Then he left. Later, after work, he stepped into his lair. It wasn’t anything special, a couple rooms and a small yard. “I’m home,” he called and heard her cheery greeting from the other room. Ignatius smiled. Every day, all his work, it was all for her.
