Only other outstanding notes about family lore is the fact they all wear the mark of the dread wolf (a god similar to loki, noted for being a god that turns the creators from the outcasted and causes a war between gods) it seems to emanate the most terrible luck and leaves them horribly disfigured. All of the families names are Shona so their human region of origin is Madagascar, Blazemom (in clan,first page) seems to be able to keep the shackles of the dread wolf from their line by having Schorl reside with Gaius ,whose overwhelming precense keeps the Dread Wolf at bay.

Tauya is the designated "Seeker" that locates dragons infected by the shade. Tawana is the "Retributer" that reclaims dragons infected by the fade to be cleansed by Blazemom (general fighter dedicated to combatting the shade)
