Some call it insanity, that the look in her eyes is pure madness, but Maris knows better. The music she always hears, the words spoken in her ears. They are “THEIR” words, and “THEY” will always tell the truth to Maris. It’s how she uncannily seems to know the secrets of every dragon, even the darkest ones that are never spoken. If dragons ask for information however, she simply laughs at them, a wild look in her eyes. “Why would I tell them?” she says occasionally. “If I’m just a madwoman, then no one needs to hear what I know.”
On the darkest of nights, eerie sounds come from Maris’s home. Some say she is communing with the dead, some say that she is possessed by some unholy spirit, and still others say that she is so utterly depraved that she destroys everything she can during the nighttime hours. Whatever the truth is, no one but Maris herself knows, but it is far less sinister than most of their speculation. She knows how difficult it is to sleep peacefully when you have a voice resounding in your ears, and the majority of the ruckus is simply her trying to find a way to fall asleep.
