These large predators are most commonly found as far as Russia and can extend to North Korea, China, India, and Southwest Asia. They are solitary animals and prefer to hunt their prey at night and are great swimmers because they tolerate the heat poorly compared to other large cats. They will hunt medium sized animals and when done eating they will hide the carcass from scavengers so they can feast later. Females vocalize their readiness to mate and tigers do not have a set mating season but mostly choose the winter time. Gestation can take up to 3 months and there can be around 2-4 cubs in a litter.
