Asarrost
~Traveler~

Uh-oh, looks like this icy wanderer strayed a little too far from his lair (Kaj, 2980) and now he's off to see the world! If ever you feel the urge to exalt, he'd really appreciate it if you could just return him home instead, or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here.

Previous owners:
2980, Kaj (lightning) Both his parents were formidable warriors and were always off on adventures, traveling Sornieth and backing down to nothing, bringing back supplies and souvenirs for the clan. Sometimes, they'd tell tales of the frozen continent of their birthland, or of close calls in the Ashfall Wastes, or the vast reaches of Dragonhome.
Asarrost had to see it. He had to know. He tried to drag his brother along, but to no effect. Undaunted, he waited until his parents set out again and followed them. He quickly became lost, unable to keep up, and now wanders alone...

124584, teacuptiger (ice) The Frigid Floes of the Southern Icefield left Asarrost thinking that maybe visiting his parent's birthland first was a very bad idea. He was very unused to such cold, and it took him by surprise. Luckily, the first lair he landed in was friendly enough to counteract the climate. Soon, however, he took off- in hopes that this time he would find himself in a warmer climate.

44182, Temerity (earth) The Dragonhome was every bit as vast and empty as Asarrost's parents had described, until he chanced upon a ridgeback head popping out of the ground. The ridgeback, Pranvera, was a traveller who felt slightly stifled in the underground lair and had flown up for a breath of air; she introduced Asarrost to her host clan who insisted that he too should stay. Most of his time was spent with Pranvera and the clan's tailor who roped the two into working as mannequins in exchange for a few tips about battling, but before they could make any real headway a hatchling went missing. After days of fruitless searching he and Pranvera decided that the kindest thing to do would be for them to continue their journey. They left with many goodbyes and few gifts of apparel from Aerie "to trade on the road".

12962, Zikul (fire) The Ashfall Waste, a smouldering pit in the world, seemingly trying to swallow the world around it. He'd had his doubts about going there, but Pranvera insisted it was a good path. And it was. It really was.

She didn't tell him her name, the skydancer he chanced upon. In fact, she couldn't tell him anything, and he soon understood that her lips were sealed - either by choice or by magic. But though she couldn't speak any words, her hands and face told him of emotions so vivid and clear, that he found himself breathless.

With her, he had a nest, and he was so absorbed by tending to the eggs that he didn't realize his travel companion had departed until he himself was urged to do the same. His skydancer lover became engrossed in caring for her young, and he... he felt the urge to wander again. They parted on good terms, and although he was sure he'd miss them, he was glad that his hatchlings were in such good care.

131939, pastalover07 (wind) On he continued till he came across Zephyr Steppes of the Windswept Plateau. He came across an odd assortment in the clan that decided to let him stay for a while. A certain fiery wildclaw wished to create a nest with him but he still had thoughts of the skydancer from his previous host clan. Learning from the many other pearlcatchers from the clan, he decided that he needed to continue on his way, going out into the mysteries of the world again.

93621, Celestriakle (light) He stopped briefly in an inn, but it turned out they were out of rooms for the night. You stay just long enough to rest and eat before moving on.

126130, Andi (lightning) Back in familiar territory in the Carrion Canyon, Asarrost came upon a clan of musical dragons. The troupe seemed an odd fit for the scientific, hardworking demographic of The Shifting Expanse, but he soon learned they were very smart to choose this as their home. The Stormcatcher's employees enjoyed the reprieve at the end of their long workdays. After a short interlude and a few music lessons, he was back on his way to see the world again.

2980, Kaj (lightning) He stopped in home for a while, telling stories of all his adventures and the dragons he met along the way. The clan looked larger than when he left ,with a few dragons he didn't recognize, but the surprised and glad welcome he received made him feel right at home. He taught Jen and Bexley the songs he learned, wrote everything down for Wildfire's library, told Ravage a few places to send foragers that didn't look like many dragons had been there, and told stories until his parents returned home from hunting - as he was describing the Dragonhome for Artifact he caught his parent's proud looks - he wasn't a lost hatchling anymore, but a seasoned traveler and instant celebrity who had so much to contribute based on what he'd learned and seen.

These days, he works in the library as one of the cataloguers.
