Annette was the hatchling that everyone else wanted to be around, for whatever reason. No matter how much she tried, she couldn’t get them to leave her alone. All she wanted was to be off on her own, reading a book, but that seemed impossible. Her clan told her it would be best for her to ‘build friendships’ and ‘actually talk to other people’, but Annette disagreed. Until she met a friend who seemed to understand her need for space. Whenever she wanted to find a soft place to curl up in, he never pestered her to hang out with him. He would just leave her alone, and let her find him when she wanted to talk. For the first time, Annette realized that maybe friends could be a good thing.
