Joyous couldn’t be a better word to describe this perky dragon. Fun loving, outgoing and quick witted, Joyous brings a smile to the face of everyone he meets.

However, in keeping with the tradition of Imperials fully committing to any and all pursuits to the pain, he's obsessive about two things: his coffee preparation methods and his outdoor activities. This is to the consternation of literally everyone else in the clan. He is in all ways except physical a sitcom dad who goes out jogging at 5am and doesn't understand why his wife and kids don't want to go on a 4 day camping trip into the middle of nowhere to bird watch and mountain climb. His idea of hedonism is a big bowl of oatmeal after a snowy mountain early morning flight. He is Calvin's dad from Calvin and Hobbes but in the body of a 12-ton, 600-ft dragon.

Tagi is content to do...none of this, though she supports her mate from a safe distance. Given that her idea of a "rough" vacation to the outdoors is a 5 star hotel's poolside cabana, it's probably for the best. She is, however, happy to sample the fruits of his coffee making labors, and he's happy knowing his mate is his biggest fan.

His familiar is an Elk named Spirit, a thousand-year old kami of his favorite mountain spot, who matches Joyous' boundless enthusiasm with a plodding certainty.

Descended from a pure line of Imperials, he is nevertheless a down to earth dragon- metaphorically, not literally - about this fact. After all, the future is what interests him, not the past. He looks forward to starting his own family, but at the moment, his mate and the clan at large are his family.

Currently he lives on the border between the Light and Water territories in the Arisen clan stronghold.

Unlike Joyous, Tagi is a bit of a snob about her bloodline, as a fellow pureblooded 4th-Generation Imperial. The rest of the Arisen clan is fairly unconcerned with bloodlines, which suits Tagi just fine, as somewhere in the back of her mind she is perhaps a little bit aware that were she in a situation around true aristocracy, this might not be quite so impressive. She is everything he is not; vain, materialistic, spoiled, and relies on magic over physical prowess. Still, he sees the good in her no one else might be willing or able to see, and she cares for him deeply, even if she doesn't make a thing of it. It's nothing personal; it's just how she was raised. He doesn't have to be told, after all- he knows. He's known since he shared a first cup of coffee with her and saw an unguarded expression of delight and interest cross her face.
