Biography
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━❄━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
VERITAS stood at the edge of the Great Abyss, where the frozen earth cracked and crumbled into nothingness. Beyond, there was no sky, no horizon... only a vast emptiness where CITADEL had once stretched further. The world was unraveling, and VERITAS, as always, remained to bear witness. The wind howled, yet no snow stirred. The ice was motionless. This close to the Abyss, time itself was stagnant. VERITAS sat, brushing his claws against the frigid ground. Once, a structure had stood here. A monument, perhaps, or a temple. He closed his eyes and listened. A whisper stirred. "We built this for the ones who came before… but who were they?" The memory was broken, fragmented, but still it persisted. VERITAS breathed it in, letting it settle within the vast archive of his mind. He had spent eternity gathering what could still be grasped—names, moments, remnants of a world that refused to be remembered. But for all he had recorded, the decay remained relentless. He rose, scanning the horizon, searching for signs of movement. There was nothing but the ruins and the cold. Yet, as he turned, he felt it—a presence, something just at the edge of knowing, as if reality itself struggled to acknowledge it. A shadow stood among the remains of a collapsed tower. "SENTINEL," VERITAS called, but as the figure moved closer, he saw his mistake. This was not SENTINEL. The figure was flickering, indistinct, as if it existed between existence and oblivion. Its features shifted—sometimes a scholar, sometimes a warrior, sometimes nothing at all. "A name," VERITAS murmured, studying the anomaly. "What is your name?" The figure’s form wavered. A voice, strained and hollow, answered: "Did I have one?" VERITAS stepped forward, the weight of his knowledge pressing against them. "Then I will name you," he said. "Before the void takes you completely." But even as he spoke, the figure faded, dissolving into the wind like a thought half-formed. VERITAS remained still. Another lost. Another forgotten. He turned back toward the abyss, wings tightening at his sides. The world was vanishing, but as long as VERITAS endured, he would remember. He would carve each fading name into the silence. Even if, one day, there was no one left to speak them.
