"The most wasted of all days is one without laughter."
When Seraphim hatched it was quite peculiar, she was much smaller than an average hatchling, could barely move other than squirming around, and her eyes remained closed when they should’ve opened seconds after coming forth from her egg.
It was odd to say the least. Especially the fact her egg was all alone in a crop field, with no explanation of how it’d gotten there in the first place. Perhaps she was inside a couriers pouch and had mistakenly fallen out?
Regardless, when the little creature finally opened her eyes to the bright world, she waited and waited. For how long is unknown. All she could do was watch the worms in the earth below, and the birds in the sky above.
Whenever she’d see critters and their families, it always provided the hatchling a longing— and so she waited while she slept.
When voices approached, startling Seraphim awake, she squirmed and squeaked in excitement. Someone had finally come for her, her family!
A tall dragon peered through the stalks, her wings were bright and twinkled like the stars Sera had slept under. Watching the dragon turn, to begin speaking with the other individuals she’d been traveling with. Obviously, Seraphim had no idea what they were saying, but not soon after white arms reached down and picked the hatchling up.
She was white as a freshly fallen snow, eyes glowing gold, taking Seraphim upon her chest as if an angel coddled under deity wings. And it was at that moment that Seraphim found home.
