The small veilspun scholar scuttled across the stone sanctum. She shuffled her papers and adjusted her mane, avoiding the path of another (much larger) dragon. It wasn’t common to see a light veilspun interested in academia, but that described Suki pretty well. Her papers contained her work on, “The Beacon of the Radiant Eye and the Luminax: Any Connections?” Soon, she approached the main office. Suki brought her work to the submission slot, ignoring the looks she gathered along the way. She wasn’t sure why dragons were still surprised seeing her sometimes. As she pushed the work down the slot, she jumped as she heard someone behind her: “Suki,” he said. Suki turned and blushed, looking down. It was her superior. “I’ve been thinking, and I believe it is time for you to find a new job.” Her jaw dropped. “No, no, not like that! I believe your talents are being wasted in research, I want you to lead a field-investigation expedition. Congrats, you’ve just been promoted.”
