okay so your story is basically working in the Aviary and you essentially betray them/start working in tandem with Justinia (Echoreid, to be exact), who convinces you that fleshcrafting is how you fix the blood blight you're carrying
this blight has afflicted you since hatching and is the primary reason you exist in the Aviary, as you always saw your life intended to be brief and unremarkable
you are about to become very remarkable however, because the mark you've been assigned to is going to get you caught up in a cosmic coup while you try to pretend life is fine carrying out your work with the assassins
custodian is your final puzzle piece mentioned in starter lore, you break into Nightmaw's place after arriving to Sornieth in your search for Echoreid's promised cure and make haste with the little Plague being back to them
this will explode quite spectacularly to the chagrin of all involved except Echoreid

“Puzzles are all around us,” Ember said to the darkness while jiggling the tools in the keyhole. “From nature to people to locks, everything is a ‘puzzle’.”
Sirens began to sound, and shouts came from where she had left her victim. “Nothing to worry about,” She muttered. “They won’t be able to get through their own traps. They can’t figure out my puzzles.” Suddenly, the door she was working on opened. She descended the stairs that revealed themselves into a dark dungeon. Her feet were nearly silent against the cold floor, but she allowed her claw to scrape slowly against the ancient stone, ominously screeching. Ember began to whistle a lullaby in tune with the scraping. From above, frantic voices sounded at the top of the stairs. Though she was surprised they made it through–and wondered what they sacrificed to do so–they would not be able to catch her in time: She was at her destination. She looked through the narrow door slit and said, “I’m here. It is time to set you free. Now, my final piece of the puzzle is in place.” |
