Mantyre prospered and thrived for many moons as a small clan under the rule of Kiguru, a dark and brooding Mirror dragon that sought only to meet the needs of the clan members. From the raveging sickness that plagued the land, Mantyre became a desolate place. Soon Kiguru fell ill to this sickness and after many moons he succumbed to it. Vilucha, his only living heir to take Kiguru’s place was left alone without a clan to rule. Those that did not succumb to the sickness left for a place where they could thrive. Many going as far as to the edges of The Southern Icefield. Vilucha stayed. Hidden in the cavern of Mantyre awaiting the return of his clan so that he may take up his role as leader. But no one showed. He became depressed and without hope that anyone would ever return to the lands.
He slept. And slept. For many moons that no one could seem to count, Vilucha slept. His heart wept for someone, anyone to settle upon the land with him. So much so that the magic within the grounds pleaded to answer his cry. His blood was drawn up and formed into a blood red butterfly.
The call was answered by the dying gasp of a Tundra dragon by the name of Aquatine. She was certainly an outsider and someone that Vilucha did not trust, but upon seeing the mark of the butterfly branded on her wing he understood her purpose for coming to Mantyre. While she was not a former clan member, Vilucha brought her in. Together they began to rebuild Mantyre to its former glory and beyond that. Dragons from around the world sought refuge within the cavern walls of Mantyre, calling it home.
As Mantyre grew, districts began forming and within those districts, leaders were selected. Vilucha and Aquatine branded themselves with the titles of Emperor and Empress of all of Mantyre, giving their first born son the right to rule over their residential district Coalfell. There, all Plague-born members born within the caverns of Mantyre resided. The refugees coming from other flights, however, didn’t care to reside within Coalfell with Plague-borns. With permission granted from Vilucha, they set up their own district of Cappadocia. There, all refugees from various flights stayed.
As time went on and Mantyre’s numbers continued to grow, the threat of overcrowding in Coalfell left tension. There were those that believed Stinker was not leading them properly and wanted new leadership. Brothers Tamika and Vorsick fought for the rights to have a new leader put in place, both ending up within prison walls for a short time. Those that followed the brothers were outraged by this and pleaded for their release upon which they demanded that Vilucha grant them freedom to leave Coalfell. Permission was granted under the condition that they still followed the laws of Mantyre. With that, the district of Cromer was born under the leadership of the two brothers.
