Clan Info

It’s quiet, and the water is smooth as glass tonight, though not as still by half. Wine dark water laps at the rosé stone, the fathomless deep blending at the horizon line. It is quiet and black and the moon is new and the stars shy, and the sea calls to you. If you look, deep, deep down into those undersea caverns, perhaps the eyes of blind things resembles the missing stars, matching up to the patterns of the constellations that you know and navigate by.

You are hopelessly lost. Perhaps you were on an errand and a sudden storm swept you off course, perhaps you left and kept going, unsure of your place in the world, perhaps you were unwanted and are looking for a home, or at least a cavern to hide in. It’s not very cold, but you are lost, and it’s dark, and the world is full of dangers.

It is then that you stumble on the beasts. Well, you notice the beasts first, because they are dangerous warriors - harpies with their long braids and their dragonbone spears, shy dryads with poison darts hidden in the folds of their clothes - but then you notice the dragons. There are a few of them - a Pearlcatcher, an Imperial, a Ridgeback, and a Fey - and they are completely at ease. Well, mostly. The Fey looks to where the stars should be, wonders aloud “When will the Commander agree to speak with us?” and the dark harpy begins to speak, but you cannot hear the answer, for she clicks and chirps too much.

“Perhaps come the next blue moon.” The Imperial says, staring into the tidepools like there’s anything to be seen there. Perhaps there is; she startles, and slowly lifts her head, and meets your eyes with ice in hers. “Matriarch, there is a stranger among us.”

Ah, damn. “Peace, Seer.” The Fey says, and she turns to look at you, too. You relax, a little, and wholly against your will. You’re in Arcane territory, and there are stories about Arcane dragons. There are stories about every flight, though, so perhaps it’s not worth it to be scared. You’re alone, however, you can’t help it. No one would know, if you died. “And peace to you, too, stranger.”

You say nothing. Nod, because it seems safest, but say nothing still. The Fey looks, and she looks, and she looks. Strange creature, with strange eyes - she doesn’t look strange, but she feels strange, and that is perhaps worse. “Are you lost?” She says. “Do you need shelter?” She says.

And, well. You do. For now, at least. And, you don’t have a whole lot of cards to play. You are very horribly lost, after all. You nod, and the Fey smiles, full of needle teeth.

“Then, follow me.”
