-WILDCLAW SANCTUARY-
The waterfall, despite its massive size and radiant beauty, was a relatively overlooked section of the Light Kingdom. It was widely believed to actually be a part of the adjacent Water Kingdom, since the average Light commoner didn't bother to check the official maps stating otherwise, so the waterfall itself and its surroundings were some of the quietest, most secluded grounds in the Kingdom.
The perfect place for a sanctuary.
The dragons here come from all over. Some of them were pressured to exalt themselves by their parents, but couldn't stand the idea of never returning home. Some were starved or neglected in dens that simply died down over time and couldn't stand to suffer any longer. Some were even being sold, with no control over their own destiny and no sense of self worth beyond their price listing.
Regardless of where they came from, all Wildclaws are welcome to stay for as long as they like in this safe house, and dragons of other species are certainly welcome to drop by- after all, rumor has it the sanctuary was actually started by an unknown Tundra dragon, dissatisfied with how some pacifistic Wildclaws were being treated by their parents.
Today, the sanctuary (or 'home', as many of the residents call it) is run by an old Lightning-born 'Claw named Orchid and her son Poker. They are considered fair and kind leaders, (though some of the younger ones complain that Orchid is too strict when it comes to cleanliness and discipline) and are always willing to give new residents a fighting chance at getting to live the life every dragon deserves.
Sure, some of the more aggressive Wildclaws think the sanctuary is only for "hippies" or "lazy good-for-nothings"; in fact, one of the harshest stereotypes about the residents is that their peacefulness and rich social connections make them "not really Wildclaws at all". They've had their fair share of hatred and fear, and dragons who thought they were escaping all evils in the world were in for a rude awakening when arsonists burnt down swathes of surrounding forest or stormed the caves.
But while the spirit of peace beats through the hearts of the residents and supporters, the sanctuary will never die.
