Ruuvik's Clan

Sometimes when wandering through the Starfall Isles, the feeling of being observed will come over you, more so than usual when wandering the territory edges of foreign clans.

It’ll wax and wane as you wander through the Reaches and the Starwood, but never once will a dragon be seen. Perhaps a flash of gold against the sun that seems just slightly out of place, or the rustle of stones falling from the floating islands for no reason at all. Eventually, as night presses close along with glowing eyes and haunting laughter just quiet enough to make you wonder if it’s all in your head, if you have not balked and run, everything will fall silent for a time.

This is the true test, for while the clan of the Diseased Empire likes to play with its intruders, only the brave make it this far. Only those who have heard the rumours about this place and the dragons who live here ever manage to last this long, and in looking for their leader, you push yourself to the edge. The toll it takes on your mind is great, but the reward for what you search for is too much to pass up.

After a time a corner will be turned, just one of many, and suddenly you will no longer be alone. While you might have had hints of the clan stalking you before, you will not have expected him. Ruuvik is little more than a ghost, and even with him right before your very eyes, you find it hard to focus on him, your gaze wanting to wander away as if you mind knows this is not safe, that you need to get out now.

“I know who you are.” Even though he whispers, his words seem to echo and rattle inside your mind. “I know what you crave, what you seek.” His eyes glow in the encroaching dark, voice low and smooth as it brushes over your ears even as he sits across the clearing from you. “So, shall we make a deal?”
