Ice cold wind from the ever frozen sea hits your face as you fight your way through the frigid floes. It's a harsh and unforgiving place, where food is scarce, and warmth even moreso. It's a white wasteland, as far as the eye can see.
But then, nested between ever frozen cliffs and looming icebergs, you spot something. On the rim of the floes, where the ice first meets the southern ocean's cold embrace, a nicely decorated entrance leads into the cliff, a few frozen pelts hung out to dry in front of it.

„It's pretty cold out, huh?“
A warm, caring voice beckons. You didn't notice the big, drowzy Tundra walking up behind you, but with a nod, she invites you inside. The lair reaches deeper into the cliff, tunnels branching off, leading to dragon's homes, workshops, nests and depots. Carvings decorate the walls, simple shapes and images carefully hewn into the stone. It's a humble lair, with very few riches on display.
Every so often, a dragon peeks around the corner, curious about the new arrival.
The Tundra – she later introduces herself as Mahamut – leads you into a large cavern filled with simple, yet cozy-looking beds.
„Welcome to cliffhearth.“
With a yawn, Mahamut turns to leave you in the dorm.
„Rest up for a bit. The others will want to meet you later“

This Clan was never planned to be one. When the introverted mirror named Viraughn dug the first cave, he just wanted to be left alone. But then a dragon came along, and another, and before he could do anything about it, Viraughn was surrounded by a strange, but lovable collection of oddballs and outcasts.

Nowadays, Cliffhearth keeps its gate open to offer a brief respite for all travellers, wether they know their destination or got lost in the neverending winter. And if they decide to stay for a bit longer, that's fine too – there is plenty of work around the lair. In that way, Cliffhearth is a beacon of warmth in the deep, deep ice, its inhabitants insisting on being generous and hospitable to whomever comes along, despite the scarce resources and harsh climate.

Strangely enough, many hatchlings and young dragons find their way to the modest caves, many looking for a purpose – one that they may very well find here.
