Bio: Given her name by the dragon Rebus with whom she shares a body, Rin was the dark secret at the heart of the ARIN project.

The ARIN project was initiated by the god-king Charlemagne, a benevolent, planet-wide AI who protects the humans of Selene, to produce him an heir. Its head researcher, an especially violent human by the name of Katharin, had other ideas.

Katharin saw the ARIN project as a chance to achieve not just immortality, but apotheosis. To outlive the universe itself and to become god.

To that end, she hid one ARIN unit away, and began to shape it in her own image, subjecting the ARIN unit who would later be known as "Rin" to rigorous "fidelity" tests. Anything short of perfection and Rin would be violently terminated and re-seeded. Any male incarnations would be terminated immediately.

(Author's note: I'm AMAB, my mom tortured me for being male, leading to a loss of my sense of self. I'm going to try RPing as my female lead for a while to see if that feels better. P.S. Katharin is basically my mom's deadname.)

Though Rin experienced death many times, some memory of her past lives remained, creating a world inside her head where the metaphorical turns literal, and making it more hostile with every incarnation. Bestial manifestations of negative emotion wandered the hellscape and terrorized Rin, brutally punishing any outward display of emotion, with Katharin at their reins.

Even millennia after her death, Katharin continued to haunt Rin, permanently imprinted upon her psyche. And so, her immortality was achieved...

...Until Rebus entered Rin's world and taught her to feel again.
