Lair Theme

Our story begins with a Wildclaw and a Fae, trekking through the murky depths of the Tangled Wood, trying to find a home for themselves within the forest. Aura and Kane weren’t quite sure where they were headed, but they did know that they were in search of something more permanent than a nomadic life. When they chanced upon an abandoned Ice egg, nestled at the roots of a large overgrown elm, they knew immediately that they would take care of it, and raise the hatchling as their very own. When the Pearlcatcher hatched, blue eyes bright against the shadows of the Tangled Wood, Aura and Kane named her Blair, and thus the Moonshadow clan began.

It wasn’t long after they settled that the Shadowbinder herself weaved through the woods, looking for brave soldiers to help fight a battle that they would later win. Aura and Kane, knowing that their loyalty to the Shadow flight would not let them stay at home while others fought valiantly, volunteered to join the cause. Blair, however, was too young, and they wanted to keep her safe, so she was left in charge of the Moonshadow clan, eventually taking the title of Queen. She ruled benevolently and well, awaiting the day that Aura and Kane would return home.

While its founders were gone, the Moonshadow clan flourished under Blair’s rule, and one day, out of the woods, came a familiar Wildclaw and Fae. They were battle weary, and definitely in need of some well-earned rest, but they were home, and that was all that mattered. After some recuperation, they both decided to use the knowledge they’d gained at the battlefront to help out at home. Thus, it was decided that Aura would be elected Captain of the Guard, and Kane would act as Blair’s trusted advisor. With the three of them at the helm, the Moonshadow clan would thrive for many years more.
