EPIC: The Musical anyone?

My top 10 birds list changes pretty much monthly and this would be ten thousand words if I went through it all. I will say I have always had a soft spot for the American Avocet, however. They're fascinating to watch and really odd for sandpipers, and I appreciate that about them. They have a bunch of weird and cool behaviors, too. Avocets are able to mimic the Doppler effect to disorient approaching predators, they do the classic "broken wing" display to defend their nests, and they frequently parasitize other avocets' nests
As for insects. Dubia roaches made me very fond of the lesser known friends in the order Blattodea, cockroaches and termites alike. I wouldn't want to see either doing damage to my house, but I actively search for native members of both sub-groups when I get a chance to look through leaf litter and rotten logs in the forest. They can be shockingly beautiful and fascinating!
And Ten-lined June Beetles are a joy to see! I was very surprised the first time I heard it, but now I find it very charming. I rescued one from the science building a couple days ago actually! https://imgur.com/a/saIKEbn. I am very intrigued about your pin collection, also! Are they like preserved specimens or enamel/art pins?
anyway thanks for proving again that my best friend is the cutest guy ever. im building my case, obviously (both finns will be providing testimony)
