Galopa's Old Oaks - Old Dragons Rescue
Monsterra's Clan
Haeth Island
Clan Info
From below the temperamental waters of the Abyssal Sea, to the inland salt marshes, a shiver of unease rattles. Dark tidings whisper upon the wind, of dark magic and unholy alliances rising again. The peace that all knew is coming to an end...
An ill wind blows, the Scourge returns...
HISTORY Haeth is a sizable piece of land, though travelers still call it an island. The oceans around it can only be sailed by the experienced, it's called Shipwreck Trench for a reason. Several different clans and races call the Haeth home, all with their own ambitions, plans and lives. All were affected the Scourge, and though it happened generations ago, its scars are still found on the land beyond the marshes, where few dare to go. Some whisper that the unstable magic has begun to fester again, to spread. The Sirens living in the waters around Haeth have their own battles to worry about, rather than the Scourge on land. The secretive Glym of the Gloomstone may trade an odd trinket or two, but the Gloomers, pirates who stalk the shores, may take it back. if a traveler seeks companionship, the dunes and marshlands is best to visit, with friendly clans always eager to greet a new face. If adventure is what a traveler seeks, the forests far inland burst with game, though they are guarded well by the Weres, who do not trust easily. Giant's Peak and the Scourgelands should be avoided, for dark magic has awoken there, and many a visitor there hasn't returned. |
SIRENS Considered by other races to be beautiful and dangerous, the Sirens of Shipwreck Trench have lived in the waters surrounding Haeth for generations. The Shoalers live in the Reefs, and they are often colourful and loud, with long scaled bodies and shimmering scales. Song vibrates through the waters, and the nursery corals shiver with laughter. Though sometimes spotted from the shore, Shoalers rarely venture beyond the trench edge. Trenchers reside deep in the trench, in the cold murky waters where predators lurk. They are darker in color, shark-like bodies and flat black eyes. They do not sing, for to sing might call a Leviathan, and their sharp teeth would be of no use then. Any missing sailors may have been lured to take a dip by a Shoaler, but it's a Trencher that poses the real threat. |
THE REEF
The Reefs teem with color and life, many fish, creatures and Sirens choosing to raise their young here when the season is plentiful. When the Winter storms come these shoals sometimes move deeper into the trench, yet they never venture too far from the rocky trench walls, where various caves and nooks can be found to protect from predators. Those who live here are called ‘Shoalers’, and are generally a giving and friendly community. |
THE TRENCH
The Trench is dark and forboding, and great predators with rows of teeth patrol it’s murky waters. Life is violent and dangerous, so any Sirens that live here form fiercely loyal packs that often don’t remain in one place for long. Most have developed keen eyesight and a glowing hue they can activate to find one another. Called ‘Trenchers’ by others, they are secretive and mistrustful of outsiders- usually quick to attack. |
GLYM The Glym are an elf-like race talented with magic. Studious and secretive by nature, they once occupied a large territory inland where many Glym thrived. However, there was an incident called the Scourge, where wild magic ripped through the land, corrupting and twisting everything it touched. Now it is known as the scourgeland, and few dare to tread there. The few surviving Glym now live in the caves along the shoreline, and call themselves the Gloomstone Clan. Travelers sometimes seek out this secretive clan to have their fortunes read or to trade, but magic is strictly forbidden now. |
Gloomstone Caves
Along the sandy beach, tunneled into the dark grey rock of the cliffside, the Gloomstone clan made their home. The waterlogged caves and deep rock are full of crystals and fossils, some members rarely venture above ground. Some have developed glowing bright colors to find each other in the dark. Considered odd and aloof, they are welcoming when needed but prefer their own clan’s company.

TAUR The Taur have the upper bodies of men, and the lower bodies of beasts. Most common are the centaur, with horse-like bodies, though Haeth also has a few deertaur. A small herd of Taur have claimed the territory in the sand dunes, led by a strong mare called Asmara. They call themselves the Dunefangs, and their herd is made up of various races. The Taur are welcoming to all, and protect their herds fiercely. Strong and fleet, they also act as merchant caravans between the different clans of the Haeth, easily crossing long distances that would take other races days of travel. |
Sand Dunes
Beyond the beach lie the dunes, soft sands and hardy grasses with small shrubs. Here the Dunefang clan has settled, building shacks they can easily move when the winter storms roll in. They trade furs and meat to the secretive Gloomstones, and act as a go between from ocean to the marshes and other clans.

Salt Marshes
The salt marshes is where fresh water meets salt- and as such as a plethora of wildlife and prey. The dragons that settled here are traders and builders who don’t venture far from their home, though they don't have a clan name.

Giant’s Peak
Giant’s Peak is a large volcano that is still active, occasionally spewing molten lava to the sizzling water below. The dragons that live here believe the volcano is both home and God alike, and are considered zealots by others. They are called the Bonecairn, an travellers know to steer clear.
