LORE

On the far side of the Viridian Labyrinth one of the Behemoth’s roots reaches out to the sea, curling over the cliffside and deep into the salty spray. A white haze rains down from above, as the waves churns the cliffs below. The edge of the jungle encapsulates what the Great Root does not, obliging to swallow the fog whole. Together by the shoreline, the trees sing of silence. They huddle closer, and curl their leaves against the breeze. The colors of their fruit strengthen against the coming mist, never fading from the sight of distant shores. The orchard turns its back to all but its own. Their branches flourish at the touch of their keepers, and in return the dragons listen euphorically to the sweetness of their secrets. Beneath their fruit, they plant another seed.

RED
Dragons whose trees bear red apples tend to have balanced skillsets with no specialty in particular, except the tending of the orchard and their clan. They are most likely to be permanent residents, teachers, and protectors, sharing such a strong bond with the their trees that leaving the orchard at all bodes ill for them.

GREEN
Green apple trees grow closer to the oceanside, and are the most difficult to tend to. They require patience and zealousness, granting their protectors freedom whenever they choose to do so. The longer a dragon has been with a green apple tree the more likely they are to develop an uncanny insight, growers of green apples have gone on to become philosophers, historians, and scientists of the clan.

SWEET
Sweet apples, usually yellow though their colors occasionally vary, are the most finicky. Their trees are demanding, weak-rooted, and light. While green is the hardest to grow, sweet apple trees are the most likely to perish, and multiple perishes can drive their dragon mad. Dragons with new and young sweet apple trees rarely leave their side, which can be quite tormenting for wordly newcomers. Sweet apple growers are the tighetest-knit group, and are the only ones to collaborate and share the tending of their seeds.

HONEYCRISP
Honeycrisp growers are the most uncommon and vary widely. They have no particular similarities among their dragons, except perhaps eccentricity. They can grow in any part of the orchard to a dragon of any talent. Honeycrisp trees are the most lenient with travel, which most growers do not take advantage of, prefering to spend their time inside clan boundaries much to the resentment of sweet growers. The honeycrisp apple gifts their grower absolute stealth and an affinity for magic, though the specific use of this magic is generally kept secret to all but the individual.
