Madness is a rampant beast who never stops to rest. The caverns below echo with the howls of the damned. What could possibly be hiding beneath the abscesses of this lowly cavern, nestled between sulphureous stone? The abyssal depths of the sea are far from the clutch of Mother's claws. Why does such a place illicit the very same feelings?

However you ended up there, you should retreat while your wits are still about you. The allure of secrets is not worth the price of penance in the Deep below. It is not a labyrinth any living creature should have to see, aside from its residents. They cannot leave, and do not want to. For there is nothing for them beyond the Deep.

It is nourishing, all-giving, all-knowing. The creatures within see no reason to leave, nor to share this gift. Watchers will shoo you away, or lure you in with false hospitality. You were not meant to see them. You never were.
