A long time ago, the city of Khell was a place pulsing with magic. Dragons from all over Sornieth came to study in its grand halls and to learn from the great mages who uncovered some of the oldest secrets of their world.

At the center of the city stood the largest temple, decorated with beautiful murals depicting the Arcanist in all his glory. At the temple’s heart, deep below the earth, lay the source of Khell’s magic. A glowing scale, said to have fallen from the god’s body as he blessed the city. Great warriors dedicated their lives to be the scale’s guardians, swearing to defend it until their last breaths.

Now, the city lies in ruins.
A great catastrophe destroyed the temples; a force so powerful that even the mages couldn’t fight it. No one remembers the event, and only few remember there ever even was a magical place named Khell. Most dragons avoid the ruins, afraid of the shadowy creatures that are rumored to roam its halls.

What many don't know however, is that the city survived. While not powerful enough to stop its fall, the mages were able to create a magical bubble around Khell and restore it to a point in time shortly before the catastrophic event.

Whoever wishes to enter the city must now pass through the large gates to enter the time bubble and will from then on spend the same day over and over again inside the city until they decide to leave its walls again. Young runaways, scientists and students of the arcane are just as welcome as dragons who simply need a roof over their heads for a little while before continuing on their own journeys. All they need is a good heart and a strong stomach as the effects of time-altering magic seem to cause quite the bellyache in more fragile individuals. Over time the community that formed in the old city has grown together to a diverse Clan with dragons from all over Sornieth having found their way here.

Continuing the old traditions, the ones who have mastered one or more disciplines are named mentors and may take students if they so wish. They are also the ones who discuss any topics concerning the good of the whole Clan, putting any proposed rules or laws to vote for each Clan member. The Clan’s mages have successfully tapped into the magic scale’s power, securing Khell's glory for many years to come.

I see you already know that Deneb was on the front page, but I just want to give him a like and a compliment of my own. Triple obsidian dragons are gorgeous, and those glowing eyes--ooh!
