Syssareth's Clan

The following are mostly notes to myself, but if you're curious about how I come up with my dragons' names, feel free to read it anyway. Though it probably won't make much sense to anyone else but me XD


Guardians: 'Tough'; harsh sounds; occasional double 'hard' consonants (e.g. kk, gg)

Tundras: 'Gentle'; soft sounds; lots of double 'soft' consonants (e.g. th, ph)

Imperials: 'Regal'; princely sounds; lots of As, Ss, Es.

Pearlcatchers: 'Prissy'; share general characteristics of Imperials, but get foppier names. Don't much like Pearlcatchers, so probably won't be many.

Spirals: Actually based around the general sound of my first Spiral's name, Giralet. Had been having trouble deciding for this breed before, but somehow fell in love with the name.

Coatls: Snakelike, hissy.

Fae: Cute, usually end in "I".

Ridgebacks: "Thieves". Don't ask what a thief-ish name is, I've no idea XD

Exalted/Sold: All named 'Nix', which as a verb means 'destroy' or 'eradicate'. I'm using it to mean 'get rid of'. Took me a while to think of it, but this way I'll know at a glance which of my dragonlings were exalted. And I kind of like the way it sounds.
