CLAN STARFLOWER
Clan Info
I am a guardian dragon named Elanor. My mate is a Tundra named Ashkanar. We belong to the Arcane Flight. We have3 beautiful babies-2 male and one female. We were also lucky to find an egg out of which hatched John, a tomato and red Fae. We adopted a Mirror mate for him, Melusine, who has some interesting genes and colors, and is very kind and fairly laid back for a mirror. Our son's Richard's mate is a GORGEOUS Tundra who fights with us as she waits for Richard to grow up.
Ashkanar was born Tundra-and an rather ugly Tundra at that. Perhaps that was why his parents abandoned him at Arcanist Creche. Luckily, the Creche caretakers are chosen carefully for their compassion, intelligence, steadiness and stability, and most of all, for their deep love of all baby dragons, regardless of breed. There are two, and sometimes a third (though it is not encouraged) paths for the creche babies to follow as adults. A lucky few will be put in the program which grooms them to become the consort of a single, unattached dragon who has won the permission of the Arcanist to begin a new lair in his territory. Although it is not a law, the tradition that all dragons beginning a new lair must be mated is a tradition that carries a force greater than law-for after all, for what purpose other than to be fruitful and help the Flight grow, as well as to swell the ranks of those who serve its resident God does one begin a new lair? (Other motives, such as power, land greed, the desire to be first, and kowtowed to, or the belief that one can run a better, happier lair than others are not mentioned). To be chosen for this path, one must be intelligent, able to get along with many different personalities, a natural mediator, and someone who values the role of helper behind the throne-a dragon who is confident that his/her position is vital to the smooth running of the lair, and has no desire for the limelight. Add to that a dragon who can diplomatically disagree with the leader in private while supporting their mate completely in public and you have the perfect leader's right-hand dragon.
Ashkanar fulfills these requirements excellently. And, after a breed change coupled with two scatterscrolls, he looks the part as well. He and Elanor share a loving, supportive and solid relationship. After the usual somewhat rocky start, they found each in the other a delightful companion matched with, in Elanor's case, the one dragon she can truly be herself with.
The human who helps us is called Jennifer-strange name-she likes flowers and astronomy and magic so I guess adopting an arcane family makes sense. She has several daughters who also play, which is nice since we get to use their nests.
