Profile lore is done, but lots of my current lair lore does not line up with it. Most dragon lore is inaccurate.
The Clan of Dark Matter
----==-+=+-==----
The Clan of Dark Matter, run by the mysterious Imperial known as Dark Matter, was outward and growing fast in its' fledgling days. Originally, the unnamed Clan accepted dragons from far and wide, residing partially in the Tsunami Flats and partially in the Fishspine Reef, staying near the shore areas in order to welcome visitors and gather new members. There was no "leader," persay. It was a hustling, bustling center of commerce, trade, and bright futures.
Everything seemed to go drastically wrong one day. The influence of Bounty of the Elements reached the Clan and struck it hard. A tsunami rolled into their area, killing a significant number of its members and destroying many of their homes, as well as their numerous items and products. This along with their severely depleted food supply left them weak. As the ravaged Clan attempted to put itself back together, it learned the tragic news of the Tidelord's disappearance.
As though acquiring this information cursed them with more horrific happenings, they began to be harassed and attacked by dragons in other Flights. Trade deals and negotiations were put on hold forever or cancelled as others declared antagonism and malice, either fighting the Clan for what goods it had left or staying away to avoid the battle. It seemed impossible to pull themselves back together. From the damage the tsunami caused, plus their deity vanishing, plus the hostility from neighbors, the Clan of Dark Matter finally caved.
Taking only its most trusted members and leaving behind initiates or trade partners, they swam to the most profound depths of the Sea of a Thousand Currents, straight toward the Spiral Keep, to guard their god's former home.
Their Clan became extremely inward. Visitors were tolerated, but could not stay for long unless approved to reside forever by Dark Matter. Dark Matter himself, despite his asocial nature, has begun taking on his own protegés, training them to step in his place if anything were to go wrong. These protegés practically have the roles of princes and princesses.
The Clan still trades and negotiates, but only Dark Matter, representatives, and ambassadors may venture out of the Sea of a Thousand Currents (occasionally the protegés as well, if need be).
Most of all, they have rebranded themselves as a secret haven. Dragons and Beastclans alike are accepted to reside with them, to put aside their differences and to work together to a brighter future out of harm's way, until they are strong enough as a whole to return to the surface.
Perhaps this was not a downfall, but a step forward.

The Clan of Dark Matter still needs allies, but has had a hard time finding any due to their lack of trust with other Flights. After much searching, finding something they were not supposed to, and pledging silence as long as the other continued to support them, they have become expertly affiliated with the mysterious dragons of the Time Flight.
Not much is known about the fledgling Time Flight, except that it is an artificial one grown out of the Lightweaver's haste to create support for herself. It, too, is always on the run, hiding itself from other Flights the same way the Clan of Dark Matter is.
After an accidental meeting, the Clan of Dark Matter works very closely with dragons of the Time Flight, keeping them updated on the rest of Sornieth and transporting pirated goods from other Flights, like Firemade tools and hardware as well as mechanics and technology from Lightning. In return, the Time Flight blesses them with their own valuable products as well as the incredulously powerful magic of time itself, having some members be regular visitors to the Clan to keep their time ties going.
Not all dragons in the Clan think that establishing a friendship with the Time Flight is a very wise idea, since the missions to get commodities illegally shipped to the Time Flight are usually highly dangerous, but they cannot deny that the extra supernatural forces that the Time dragons give them makes their efforts worth it.
The Clan of Dark Matter is also among the Time Flight's only ties to the rest of Sornieth, and could perhaps one day be part of the movement to normalize and accept the growing element.
Alliance(s)
The Clan of Scorched Marble has built an allegiance with the Clan of Dark Matter. Having had members first bump into each other through their visits to the Time Flight, both of the dragon Clans have made themselves familiar with one another. The Clan of Scorched Marble is, in fact, filled with Time dragons assuming the guise of the Light Flight to hide themselves.
The Clan of Dark Matter draws even more time power from the Clan of Scorched Marble than before, and in return, grants them with boundless knowledge from their oracles and prophets. Their allies value education, and so to pay them off for their extra magics, the Clan of Dark Matter ventures Sornieth, gathering information and divining futures to tell to the other Clan.
Among the executives of both Clans, the relationship is purely formal on both ends, but a few dragons from each group sometimes meet informally to establish personal ties that, in spite of geographical distance, bonds the opposing factions ever closer.
