Long ago, the Great Cataclysm of the Scarred Wasteland split the ground in two, sending dragons and familiars alike tumbling down into the depths of the world. As the dust settled, the new space was divided into three territories, called roiaums. Groups of rogues quickly took control over Siupas and Boscosa, the two largest roiaums, but battles rage on today over control of the third– Hulum.
A great beast dubbed the Siltwalker lurks within the roiaums. Rogue groups sacrifice (exalt) dragons to them in order to secure protection and amnesty. If a group hesitates, or delivers late on their exalting, dragons disappear into the murky shadows never to be seen again.
Siupas is ruled over by the rogue clan of Sceleri, headed by Illiya
Boscosa is controlled by the Rikorak, headed by Cawley

Aw, thank you! I like Firefly a lot, but it's a gene that doesn't work well with much clothing. I've got my fingers crossed for a proper bioluminescent gene, but in the meantime, the flies'll have to do.
