The Swift as the Wind, or Swiftwind clan for short, are a collection of dragons that follow their own wishes and passions in every day life but in times come together under their leader Swift's guidance.

True to their flight they are independent and not bound by others' rules and as such may be found wandering over many different parts of the world. Yet at heart they consider themselves as part of the same clan and will usually greet each other when they encounter one another.

They do consider a certain part of the Mighty Lair their own. The boundaries of this area is guarded by a pair of Mirrors, Trustywing and Agate, together with a merry Tundra dragon named Firefur. Occasionally, they might find that Moonstone or Tliltic help out, more for the thrill of the battle than any true feeling of companionship (or at least, this is what they would have you believe).

Most of the Swiftwind dragons are not bound by any laws for mates. They may come together at times but once the eggs hatch the little ones go out into the world on their own and have little to do with their parents, instead forming their own future entirely. Dragons take much pride in their strength and independence and relying on someone else, even a parent, would be considered a bad sign.

A notable exception to the lack of consistency among mates are Maura and Teiru, who have eyes only for each other and refuse to consider any other mates.

Rarely seen are the Flight Representatives. By some believed to be spirits or half-deities of some kind rather than normal dragons, these creatures are very rarely encountered by the other clan members yet seem to have some bond to Swift and therefore the rest of the clan.
