Traveling through The Tangled Wood, you record much information about the nature that lives in the territory of The Shadowbinder into your well-worn journal full of various other interesting facts. Stopping to rest on a large, moss covered boulder, you paused to scribble down information about the numerous luminescent mushrooms littering the dark and foreboding forest when you hear trampling that is approaching you at an alarming rate. Yelping, you scrabble off the boulder and bolt through the forest, hearing the sounds of heavy breathing and snorting along with the thundering of hooves behind you when suddenly, you are slammed into an ashen tree trunk, face pressed against the scratchy, rough bark. Groaning, you slump to the ground pitifully, wondering if you were going to die alone in this eerie, secluded forest when suddenly, you hear an alarmed cry.
"Stop! Bad boar! Get...OFF!" You hear a massive grunt of effort, and upon turning around you see quite the comical sight, in fact you would've laughed very hard at the sight if you had any wind left in your lungs and your ribs weren't broken (It sure felt like they were). A tundra with a shaggy brown coat and blue wings clad in silver steampunk apparel is attempting to pull an enormous Barkback Boar off of you, and failing miserably. Eventually, the boar realized that it was simply not worth it and stood, relieving some of the pressure bearing down on you and lifting its owner (You assumed) up with it. Disentangling herself from her familiar, she stood and stared at you while you stared back, to stunned to do anything.
"Uhh..Hi?" You offered, standing slowly, wincing at the pain in your back. Almost as soon as you stood up, the tundra dragon took a long hard sniff at you and smiled a toothy grin.
"HI! My name is Unaella. Well, Princess Unaella, but I like Unaella. That was my familiar that you just met, he's usually pretty friendly, but you kinda were in our territory. Oh!" She smacked her head with her wing and before you could reply she dragged you towards a cave entrance full of thorns and bristles that gleamed dangerously in the bioluminescent light of the forest. "Mother told me to bring any strangers directly to her because she would take care of them!" Still dragging you at full speed towards a cave full of dagger-like thorns towards her mother, (Who you could assume would not be very happy to see you) you were absolutely terrified, and yelped, fearing for your life. Unaella stopped and looked at you, tilting her head questioningly. "What's wrong? Don't worry! You smell like a good person, mother won't do anything to you! Just don't offend her okay? Mother doesn't like that. I remember one time as a hatchling...." She continued to talk while resuming to drag you towards the cave, and just as you reached the overhang of it, she whispered something to the thorns, and they parted for her. You, staring in awe at the thorns, didn't notice that you had been pulled into a secret lair until you saw a familiar boar dart off towards an enormous gloomy cave swarmed by vines, deadly thorns, and glowing mushrooms. Gulping, you walked slowly next to Unaella, who had let go of you and was now briskly striding towards the entrance of the cave looming over you. Dragons peered out of all kinds of nooks and crannies, curious hatchlings flying about above your head, laughing and playing. The more bold ones came up and slipped their talons into your satchels, investigating the various trinkets you had collected on your travels and curiously examining them. She growled at them, and they looked at her with fearful eyes before scampering away. Soon, you were at the entrance, where two burly looking tundra dragons were standing guard, one white and blue, the other brown and purple. Unaella hugged both of them and they smiled warmly at her, exchanging friendly greetings before letting her pass. There were no warm greetings for you, only cold and calculating looks. Both sniffed you quickly before relaxing and letting you pass. The doors slammed behind you, and you immediately felt miniscule in the large, gaping dark palace. Some objects looking mysteriously like dragon bones were mounted in various places, and atop a thorny throne sat a very dark female tundra dragon, who had displeasure plastered across her face, staring down at you with calculating shining purple eyes. To go with her throne, she had thorns twisted around her body, and a glowing shadow rune floated around her face, illuminating her features. She had a pearl necklace that caught the light of the room, reflecting it softly in iridescent beams. Around her waist was a shadow sash, and her wings were bound by several bird skulls and bones of many creatures. You felt useless under her gaze, and lowered yours in respect and submission. She sniffed in approval before crooning in a sickly sweet voice, her tone filling you with dread.
"Now honey, who is your new friend?"
