Meneldir's Clan

Lighting flashes down from the sky, striking the hard, dry earth near your talons. You hurry by, uselessly trying to stay dry, despite the heavy rains. Looks like it's going to be a long, cold night in some ditch, you think ruefully. Suddenly, out of the dirt it seems, a dragon springs up and beckons to you. You hesitate warily. Mother always said not to talk to strangers... "Would you prefer to sleep in a warm bed this night, or behind a cactus!" the dragon hollers over the crashing rain.That decides the matter.You nod affirmation. Unfortunately, the rain is still coming down fast and hard, and the gray clouds have darkened to the color of coal. You shout, "Of course."
"This way, then." It is too dark for you to see anything. A word is whispered. Light flares up, coming from a small object cradled in the dragon's hands. The light bobs as she moves forward, looking back every once in a while to make sure you're still behind her. After walking for hours (a half hour tops), you see a Mesa with a huge hole in the center, lit up by strands of lights. The skydancer stops, gazing up at it. "That's the gateway to my clan. We call it Evenholm," she says proudly. "Here, hold this." She hands you the ball of light, which you take gingerly. You notice with surprise that it's quite cool to the touch.
"I have to talk with the sentry. Don't worry, I won't be gone long," she reassures you, smirking slightly at the look of terror on your face. "Oh, and by the way, my name's Meneldir." Off she goes, leaving you with the light ball and growing feelings of discomfort. The rain slips through the cracks in your scales, making your skin itchy and soggy. You decide to focus on something else. Looking at the dragons by the entrance you notice happily that they seem to be done talking and Meneldir's waving at you. She beckons with a claw, and you trot over, glad to be under the shelter of the mesa's top. "Welcome to the Bluecrackle Clan."
