TOPIC | Site says to whitelist
Normally I browse the internet with Adblock+ on Firefox.

I disabled it on Flight Rising and allowed javascript weeks ago.

I'm still getting the text [in the adbox] asking me to whitelist Flight Rising in my adblocker despite the fact the adblocker isn't running.

OS: win7

Same here. I think the text is always visible on the brown/redish field no matter if you have the website whitelisted or not. So sometimes, when no advertisement is displayed, you can still read the text.

Yeah. THat's the background. The ad lays on top of it. If the ad is transparent or doesn't load, you see the background. The assumption is that if you're seeing the text all the time, then you don't have us whitelisted. (something we greatly appreciate! The revenue from ads allows us to make so much of our site browseable to guests.)

But if AdBlock is completely disabled for the site? Or am I missing a feature of adblock and it's a PEBKAC problem?

In Firefox, never even with Adblock completely disabled for the site. The little icon on my bar is grayed out.

Chrome, always.

My confusion is stemming from the fact I turned the adblocker off completely for Flight Rising.

OOH. I just allowed contextweb and an ad briefly showed up. Maybe it is a PEBKAC or a noscript issue.

YES. It's more than just Adblock. It's NoScript.

I had to allow contextweb and adnxs to get an ad to appear.

Aaaaaaaaaand with those enabled, I'm getting XSS attempt notifications.

It appears to be adnxs*com causing the XSS attempt notifications.

edit2: with context web enabled, I'm getting sporadic ads.
