Based on information gathered during our last registration window, we wanted to give all of our new players a short list to review so that registration can be smooth and painless.
  • Check your spam folder - it is not uncommon for Flight Rising confirmation emails to go to the spam folder.
  • Remember how to spell your username.
  • Be sure to spell your email correctly - we saw many @gmail.co, @yaho.com, @gmail.con, etc.
    • Don't use a throwaway email account, the email registered to the account is the one you need to reset your password or contact us/be contacted by us

  • Make sure your information on the registered account is accurate - we can't help you if you use fake names and fake dates of birth. If you lose access to your email and your account, we need that information to help you regain access to your account.

The Basics

New to Flight Rising? We've put together a mini-FAQ for you!

The Rules - Read these first

The Terms of Use

The Site Rules & Guidelines

General Game Play:

I need help!

The Help Forum is a fantastic resource with many kind players willing to share information and help a fellow player in need.

What is Exalting?

Exalting is the mechanic to remove excess dragons from the system and helps your Flight in a Dominance battle.

Be careful - Exalting is permanent!

I Exalted my progenitors and didn't get any rewards!

This is working as intended. Progenitors can be Exalted but to prevent abuse and exploitation they do not reward treasure or count towards Dominance.

While you can Exalt your progenitors, we suggest not doing this right away as Exalting is permanent.

I can't add a Familiar!

You can only bond with one type of familiar. If you have duplicate Familiars of the same type you will not be able to attach them to multiple Dragons in your Lair; however, you can sell them in the Auction House or trade them with other players!

I can't breed my dragons!

If your dragons are off their cooldown but you still can't breed them check to see what is the energy level of the dragon in question? If it is too low, they will not be able to breed. Feed your dragons and try again.

I can't use my dragon in Coliseum!

A dragon cannot be used in Coliseum if they are Unnamed or their energy level is too low.

I have all this food but my dragons are still going hungry!

You need to Convert the food in your Hoard to food points. Go to your Hoard, select the type of food you want (check the upper left corner of the thumbnail), and click "Convert" at the bottom of the page.

Technical and Customer Service

Always email us with the email you have registered with your Flight Rising account. If a player emails us using a different email, we will not be able to assist.

I purchased gems and have not received them yet!

We apologize for that delay, it does sometimes happen. Please send us the necessary information through Contact Us from the email you have registered with your Flight Rising account and your transaction ID#.

I found a bug!

The Bug Reports Forum is where you want to go. Bugs can't be found and squashed without player reports and we appreciate every single one of them.

When you visit this board, please read the stickies at the top of the forum, especially Known Issues and Bug Reporting Guide. Many issues are known and have tracking threads to help the devs consolidate player reports.

Expired Auctions Not Returned

Expired auctions are returned about every hour in order to reduce server load. This is intended. If your expired auction has not returned after an hour, please send us a message through Contact Us with the dragon ID# and your Lair ID#.

My dragon was purchased twice!/I purchased a dragon and did not receive it!

This unfortunately happens sometimes. Please use Contact Us with the details: dragon ID#, date and time of the purchase, the amount of currency involved.

I need Customer Service!

If you have an issue that requires customer service, use the Contact Us form here.

Where can I find updates on Flight Rising?

On both the front page and the archived announcements forum.

To all of you who have joined us today: thank you and welcome!

@Mew, @Fuga, the devs are aware of the issue. Some players have successfully been able to switch from what we've been told. If you are able to successfully switch, please let us know when, what browser, and what you did prior to making the switch. This will help the developers track down the source of the problem. We are sorry for the frustration and inconvenience this has caused our players, we want everyone to be able to make full use of our features and gameplay.
Why are our deity's so hungry?
Jun 02, 2014, 09:20:21
I made it so that the deities should not be hungry for several years...

Let's hope that giving them that much energy didn't break some internal system I was unaware of =X

@SFFCorgi Only the NIghtsky apparel. It's available as a bundle now! We do gem items as bundles because the individual pieces stock in unlimited quantities. This gives customers a price break if they want the full set. WE have no plans to add apparel treasure bundles at this time.

hmmMMM, yeah I'm a lil worried about the skin thing now. If making a skin of an OC makes the design FR's property, I'm gonna have some... issues... but if it's just like... the skin itself and not the design, than that's alright.

Man, I can't tell if I just have a hard time understanding legal stuff or if this is all just too vague.

If you make a skin, the skin is our property, not the character. We have no interest or intention of taking other people's original characters from their universes.
Quote:
Skins and images derived from our PSD are the property of flightrising.com. You may not use skin or images derived from our PSD template for in print media or for use in another game.

The above is from the TOU, and what it basically means is that the SKIN is our property; ou sell and trade it following our rules. This is to cover our butts. They're made using our PSD assets, and we don't want those being used in another game or around the web independent of the context of being Flight Rising dragons. We need the ability to remove a skin should it ever pose a problem, and to revoke access to the skin (example: downtime or if they site ever closed.)

Anyway, we own the skin, not the color scheme or character its based on.

Oh thank god, that is one giant huge weight off my shoulders then. I'll have to go buy the fabric for lightweaver and the rest now. ;u;

@Undel, okay, so dragons based on FR species are one of the five, buuuut you didn't reply about the OC dragon, and I'm not going to ever assume anything ever again on FR. OC characters are OK to make as a plush outside of the five limit, because they are not FR dragons, even if a FR dragon was skinned to look like them? Or because a skin was made, does FR now own the rights to that person's OC design as well?

This is covered in the TOU as well:
Quote:
Artwork sales of original works, -tangible and digital- utilizing the artist's own IP may be sold by the artist and have no limitations on units sold. The limitations above are placed solely on works using Flight Rising's IP.

The OC (provided the OC is its own IP, own universe, and not "this is my Flight Rising OC) belongs to the commissioner and is their IP. You can make commissions for these all day long. Hpwever, if you were to make a work of the OC as if it were an FR wildclaw - that's where you again run into the 5 unit limit.

Ritter wrote on 2014-05-30 17:23:39:
Um, @Undel or other admins? Maybe TOU should clarify that the IP being referred stands for Intellectual Property since the acronym can stand for a plethora of other things

Good idea! Doing that now.

Who leaked our plans!?

But yeah, a back-to-basics retro FR is totally on the table. We'll stick in a few infinite loops, revert some web server settings, cut back down to one machine, and enjoy the nostalgia! The sense of quiet and serenity as the entire site has a moment minute 7 minutes of silence as we all collectively load a single page, watching that little circle spin round and round.

@clockworkMoose

A dragon that is a FR wildclaw sold for real world currency would count as one of the 5 items.
Quote:
Tangible merchandise utilizing Flight Rising IP may be gifted, traded, purchased with Flight Rising currency, or raffled (provided the raffle does not utilize "real world" currency) beyond this 5 unit limit, but may not be sold for "real world" currency once the 5 unit limit is exceeded.

So yes, you could continue to raffle the god dolls, just not sell them for real-currency profit.

@BombSwan If you have a friend or a school that has a 3d printer, you could absolutely make a 3D not-for-sale print for yourself. However, we're going to stick with our TOU: we really do not want our IP uploaded to print-on-demand services like shapeways. Most of those print-on-demand services don't want people to upload stuff they do not own the full copyright to anwyay, and have their own TOU to prevent it.

As stated, the rule is one account per person. We recognize that two people can live in the same house and use the same computer and be two people. IP is not the only thing we look for.

To help us out though, we do ask that you keep trading between yourselves to a once-in-a-while deal. If it seems to be your roommate's sole goal to provide you with currency and storage and extra copies of all the festival items... that is fairly suspicious. ;-)

Two people, one IP: fine. yay. have fun.
One person, multiple accounts: bad. no. go home.

@Weenyah If you are selling the physical item - the artwork on the paper and mailing it - then it counts as a physical good.

If you are painting the item physically, and then scanning the object and providing a jpg, then that is a digital sale.

I hope that this clarifies our stance on art sales.

@aboveclouds We do not place any restrictions on original art sales where the artist and commissioner are the owners of the IP. We only place restrictions on works utilizing the Flight Rising IP. (assuming the work falls within our TOU - For example, selling artwork that on our forums that is pornographic or extremely gory would not be acceptable, as posting such things to our forums violates the TOU.)

We're sorry, @clockworkMoose. The questions we received referred to one plush raffle and one plush sale respectively and the answer was based on the single raffle/sale question.

When we are asked about selling multiples, we have always quoted a 5 unit limit. That being said, we will be updating our Terms of Use further to avoid any additional confusion on the issue, and so that everyone has something they can easily reference from this point forward rather than having to e-mail us about it.

edit: I just want to be clear, this is in regards to sales of Flight Rising copyrighted material. If someone has an original design not related to Flight Rising and would like to commission you to make a plush of it, that'd be fine.

The issue is selling more than five units of Flight Rising based craft-work.

We will clarify on raffles shortly.

Why we have the 5 unit limit on physical stuff:

While we appreciate the creativity of our players and the skill of the artists on our site, we do not want outside parties mass-producing merchandise. Making a piece of fan art or a craft project for the joy of it is fine. Making a business out of making Flight Rising merchandise is not.

So uh, have fun, but no Flight Rising swag empire please. That gets really uncomfortable. =X

@Confectionary, digital art does not have limits, physical copies have a five unit limit total. Five prints total, not five copies of five different prints. That would be 25 physical units of Flight Rising copyrighted materials.

We will be updating/making necessary announcements as soon as possible. I know this is sudden, right now only stated in the forums, and I am sorry, I know this will be upsetting to a part of our artist community.

The skill and creativity of the community is amazing, I love seeing what you do but we have to draw a line somewhere sooner rather than later.

@tec, five units is five units. If a Flight specific set has five pieces, those are your five units.
