I think that something that looks like bubbles streaming from the top of the wing down to the ends. It have the base color go from dark to light in the same direction of the bubbles. It could also work as a primary, with bubbles coming from the feet and face and along the sides (much like the runes triertary) [emoji=arcane rune]

Lightbulb just went off in my head while I was looking at the triertary gene suggestions. Imagine a secondary gene that makes the wings transparent. Kind of like the Bee secondary, just without the veins and spots and things. This new gene could be called Glass or something along the lines of that.
