I would make a secondary gene called vein. The wings of the dragon would be just like the veins of a leaf.
A secondary (and primary) gene that gives the dragon a subtle soft looking texture would be lovely!

the shell here's the closest example of what i'm thinking of that i can find- not really a fur texture just something that makes the dragon look slightly soft and doesn't look flat like basic but doesn't have any sort of big markings

Maybe brindled? Like a tortoiseshell cat. Kind of like smudges of another color on top of the preexisting color? Idk how to describe it, but like a tortoiseshell cat with poison color combos

I love animals with brindled coats! So pretty. A matching primary/secondary set could be called Brindle and Tortoiseshell, since those are very similar patterns.

a jelly/slime type gene kind of like a fully body capsule that can be slightly see through and have tiny bubbles in it or a dripping/sludge effect
this could be REALLY cool and could be brewed using baldwin
you could make food type dragons like jelly or you could use it to make a amber dragon with tert genes layered ontop like firefly or ghost to make bugs traped in amber or a suspended skeleton

just a nerd with nothing better to do :)
A gene based off the word komorebi, aka sunlight shining through the leaves of trees. It would be similar to freckle but possibly have a "glow" effect and optionally have branches/veins extending from where the wing meets the shoulderblade in the appropriate color that skink/spinner tends to use as their accent colors.

Ping me to get my attention!
Why not a transparent gene? Like the Bee gene, but not so insect-like.

I like the idea of a leaf-esque secondary! It can be semi-transparent like Bee, and the veins could be less transparent and possibly tinted with an accent color.
I also think that a secondary to go with capsule would be an amazing idea. For that, I think the wings would be only slightly transparent, with lots of blobby reflections to make the wings have the same look as Jell-O! A gradient could be applied similar to Jaguar or Striation where the outer parts of the wing are lighter/a different hue than the parts closest to the body.

Maybe some type of translucent wings? Name could be Glass, or just Translucent. Colors would work just like stained glass would. I don't mean completely translucent, just kinda see-through, or like, well, glass.

so please believe the things we see are pieces of reality
we already have glimmer, and we have freckle, so why not combine them and make a starry, maybe even constellation themed secondary? The "stars" or "sparkles" in the gene would be the complimentary color to whatever the wing color is, sort of like a mix of bee, firefly and filigree!
Like so;
(This is a really bad example, I put this together in a few minutes so uhm, there'd probably be more stars and shading and stuff)

On lighter colors, it would become darker, and for dark colors, it would become lighter. The shading would def be different too, probably a bit softer.

Okay, bear with me because this is my first fake gene -- ever. I've drawn accents before, so this is pretty much how I decided to go about this. This is a rough rough rough markup because I have no idea how to create fake genes.
So, I decided to run with @/terhothyl's idea of the Runes compliments. This is what I came up with, in Silver.

for the sake of keeping the post small i took out your other examples :'D hope you don't mind!
but yes hello that inspired me to make a mockup that's... glowy. i like glowy.

[color=FF8000]I need this to go with runes ASAP, full support. Love it
