What about some torn and tattered wings? It should also have some stripes with darker coloured background.

Is there any compensation for genes that make it into the game?
I've been putting something together and it's starting to look like it would make a nice secondary gene but If we don't get anything in return I would prefer to just sell it.

This is probably a concept that's already been introduced before, heh. Figured I should give it a go none the less! Peacocks!
Since it's just a rough idea, the artwork is a little sloppy and I only bothered to do one side, since it's pretty detailed as a concept! I ended up trying out different colour combos, most of which I colour-picked from scries of butterfly.
It'd look particularly lovely on feathered dragons, like coatls, sds and imps!
What do you guys think?
Original concept, using Emerald:

It's called Glitch, the companion primary gene would be Pixel (and I'm currently working on a mock-up of that one!)
before you ask: yeah I know I only did one wing, it's just a mock-up for now. The final version would probably also affect the mane and tail in the PC breed.

Hi Undel! (And all others) :3
We have SO MANY stripy genes.
I'd like to see more spots? Maybe like a cheetah or a leopard?
I'm on mobile so WHO KNOWS if this link will work.

Primary/secondary ideas:
Tattoo and Imprint
(or Glyphs and Sigils, or whatever)
Designed to complement Runes, without overpowering it.
- They cover the dragon's body and wings with darker or lighter (or accent-colored) markings with the same geometric shape as Runes, as if they were letters in the same language
- To avoid clashing with Runes, they don't glow, and they're slightly bigger (larger blocks of color spread out across the dragon's wings and body, as opposed to tiny scribble-looking things that would just look really busy)
- The rune shapes can either be arranged in crisscrossing lines, or loops and swirls, or just random placement like alphabet soup
- The primary would be designed to avoid clashing with the placement of Runes, but still look good on dragons with Basic or other terts: it would cover the "false underbelly" area that Runes outlines
- Some colors would produce interesting "accent color" effects like the ones you see in Poison and Toxin, but there would also be colors that just look really muted, like tattoos that have faded or darkened over time - so you could get a variety of looks with these genes

Okay, bear with me because this is my first fake gene -- ever. I've drawn accents before, so this is pretty much how I decided to go about this. This is a rough rough rough markup because I have no idea how to create fake genes.
So, I decided to run with @terhothyl's idea of the Runes compliments. This is what I came up with, in Silver.

I made other examples like these, but because I couldn't figure out how best to change the belly color, they may look a tad off.

These are most definitely not the best, but they are a rough markup if any better artists wanna undertake this idea!
