A watercolor gene, multi colored, cloudy patches with a touch of texture on a light/lighter colored base. Probably be a good Baldwin gene.

I think the site could benefit from a more simple gene set, since a fully gened and dressed dragon can get pretty cluttered at times
so how bout a deer themed gene set? incorporating fawn spots, a light belly, and points? (or maybe just the belly and spots, if point is eventually added)
I'm not sure of how the secondary would look, but I think the name set Fawn / Dapple is pretty cool

I support this, but i wonder what if the spots would ever change colors...like with lapis, violet, grapefruit, and even white.

yep, you heard me. O r c a. As a primary!!! :)
We have alot of complex genes on flight rising. I love the more basic genes like basic, giraffe, and falcon. Orca could be a great addition, although I am unsure how to design a secondary for it. It could be called Dorsal maybe. lol.
Orca would be a treasure gene and would be very similar to basic but have a defined underbelly, eye spots and a flank stripe, and some dragon breeds would get gradient legs.
Take a glimpse at my idea for this primary:
Mint is a wildclaw that sports Mint Orca and Saffron Butterfly.
Strawberry is a coatl that gracefully displays Strawberry Orca, Lemon Noxtide, and Cottoncandy Capsule.
Orca is of course presenting Orca Orca and Sapphire Basic.

Something based off of agate, bands and rings of colors and strips of accent colors with a glossy finish. Horns/spines in the base color and tipped with accent color. Including secondary as well. While it's shiny I think it would be nice to not a be a gem gene as we only have one shiny gene that's not gem (capsule). Perhaps a Baldwin/Swipp gene that's recipe calls for a lot of agate items (eye agate, fortification agate, malachite agate) or perhaps even obtained from digging/scavenging as we don't have a gathering gene yet and this would work well for that.

I'm making another gene suggestion, and it turns out it's been two years and four days the last one, Venom tert!
This is a Primary/Secondary set, but with the primary being more prominent, I'll post them here.

This set of genes is based primarily on the primitive markings of horses, commonly called 'dun factor', and typical of wild horses.
It shares a colour palette with Python and Morph (I only saw one colour with an issue -- maize) and has three colours, light, medium, and dark.
The corresponding colours were colour-picked on a male coatl from the tip of the second, darkest, wing feather (1/dark), the eyebrow (2/medium), and the shoulder horns (3/light).
It's pretty much impossible for a gene to look good in every colour, and it's true with this suggestion, too; you can see it performs best on high-contrast colours to bring out the dark elements, and also on warm and neutral colour ranges.
This is the type of 'natural' gene I'd love to have more of -- not explicitly patterns copied directly from real animals, but rather ones that look like they could be at home in reality.
This didn't actually start out as a gene suggestion but that's what it turned into since I've been visualising a suggestion like this for a while.
Note: the pearl wasn't intended to be coloured, I made an error and it's not worth fixing since we know what a 'default' pearl looks like.
Dun and Equus are shown on a pearlcatcher due to the implied equine traits in the breed, but they could also work particularly well on tundras as well as translating just fine to fully scaly breeds.

I'd love Gene's based on Betta fish colouring! I think Koi betta and Dragonscale Betta would look amazing.

To differentiate this from the piebald gene you could have the white colour replaced by the dragons primary colour, the black and red koi colouring replaced with two separate colours like you see on Skink. I'd LOVE more clear sections on the dragons like you see on the capsule gene, especially if it had a matching secondary gene. clear wing sections = yes

Dragonscale betta is aptly named! they're characterised by thick, opaque, metallic, white(or other colours like blue, copper and platinum) scales on its body that look a bit like dragonscale armor. I think this would make an amazing primary gene that could match the scale tert'.
