Sorry about the double post
Unless LioNox were the release alluded to by the Superb hintword, the only one still remaining, we haven't had a reveal for it yet. I wondered, "what if it's a gene based on the various birds with superb in their name?", and ended up with the following pair of fake/mock genes.
I'd like to suggest a primary/secondary pair with something like these patterns, which are inspired by the male superb fairy wren.
Superb almost certainly isn't a gene. Even if it is (and even if inspired by the specific bird, which is extremely unlikely lol), this design would still work completely removed from the bird influence.
Superb (primary) and Variegated (secondary)

(shown in cantaloupe above)
(The main thing I'm iffy on is the patterning on the coverts, it's quite far removed from any real gene)
These examples were coloured with part of the Pinstripe/Trail colour palette, so some may look quite unexpectedly different -- if tried with the palette of Lionfish/Noxtide they'd look radically different again!
The unlabelled ones at the bottom of the image below are cantaloupe, seafoam, thicket, radioactive, maize, and sand.

(click for fullsize)
And finally, here they are interfacing with real genes (Cherub, Peregrine, and Underbelly), modelled by one of my coatls:

I was thinking it would be cool to have a fish scale/traditional dragon scales, but I'm not sure how it would convert on fluffy dragons like coatl and tundras. I'll have to do some more thinking.

Saw someone mention this in the FRD forum, but whatever pattern is used on the Thunderstomp rhinos, make that a dragon gene! Or something similar to it.

Chimera: the color of the dragon is split down the middle. Main color on the side that is more viewed, and complimentary/altered shade? color on the other side. Pattern could be some sort of calico-ish dappling.

I would love this! Maybe it would look something like a harlequin or Dutch rabbit so you could see both colors on dragon with a profile stance

I’d like a gene like the Boston Terrier’s with the black going all the way down the neck, but not so far down the legs.
