What about sock markings on a dragon's feet? It be way of getting a bit of a three tone colors going on.
Sock markings--simple stuff on the hands and feet or whatever--would just about make me the happiest person alive. Let me have black dragons with magnificent magenta socks.

Since people mentioned runic patterns already, how about runic patterns that resemble graffiti? You know, looks like it was airbrushed on instead of looking like a line of light.
How about a tertiary gene that adds fish scales to our dragons.

The more subtle cousin to gembond.
Gembond is covering up[i] too much[/i] of the dragons body in my opinion, so it's important that Scaleborne is just a stylish way to show the teriary colour, so that equipped apparel will still be a nice complement.

I support the Crystallize gene idea so much. It looks /way/ more streamlined and like what I expected the original gembond to look like in the first place
It looks a lot more natural. Sort of like bearded dragon spikes but with GEMS. So cool uwu

I would love to see[b] Pointed[/b] -- like a Siamese cat or Himalayan rabbit or Siamese rat or even the dun family of horses such as grulla. Fading to the tertiary colors at the "cooler" points on the dragon, such as ears, fins, limbs, tails, and muzzle.
